Welcome to episode 223 of the IABC International Podcast. On this episode we're speaking with Roxanne Beaubien about the Stronger than you Know campaign which has been recognised in this year's IABC Gold Quill Awards.
The project was an internal mental health initiative designed to increase awareness and understanding about mental wellness and to reduce stigma associated with seeking help when experiencing a mental wellness struggle. The three-pronged anti-stigma campaign centred on testimonials from two members with lived experience, messaging from trusted leaders and a pledge project for all employees. Tactics included videos, a microsite, posters, magnets and a launch event.
A post-campaign survey proved the campaign’s success in reducing stigma, improving opinions about those with mental wellness issues and influencing some to seek help if they were to experience a mental health challenge.
