This week we chart the journey of a famous actor through peak British TV including Boon and our Friends in the North! Carla returns to the shop partly because she’s never seen this week’s film and partly because she turned up to the second half recording of last week’s film having not watched it yet! We talk constantly about the fact we’re not going to compare it to Guy Ritchie films, discuss what our criminal names are and sneak in a Press Gang reference, as we watch number 42 on the list, Layer Cake.

The New Year kicks off with Andy repeatedly getting The Visitor out of the New Years sales bucket and putting it back on the shelf. Carla returns John Wick to the shop which kicks off an inexplicable conversation about Johnny Depp and a revelation of how much Andy and Kev are like an action cop duo! Kev comes off a New Year hangover with a grumpy attitude to the entire list and Toby Maguire in particular. Is this a positive drugs film? Will Kevin find any positives at all? Will this redeem the list in Carla’s eyes as we go into a new year? So many questions so join us to find out the answers as we kick off 2025 with number 43 on the list, Wonder Boys

This week we move away from the romance wing of the shop, with Andy telling us about his night out with Johnny Depp, Laura dresses up as a pirate on an audio podcast. There is somehow a Harry Potter reference from Andy. We debate where we will start pod diving lessons, Andy pulls out a pirate impression, and listen to the end, when Laura drops the biggest of all bombshells 🤯 As we watched Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl at #45

Too much romance not enough heist! This week we go deep on Dennis Leary, who is the best Bond in the film and would Columbo have solved the case any quicker. We discuss what colour of shirt dates the movie and what constitutes being too Bondy?! All this and one of the best 3 star reviews so far. Join us as we get heisty with, at number 46 on the list, The Thomas Crown Affair from 1999.
This week in the shop we learn about Kev's hatred of E.T., "1995 Andy" makes an introduction, we find the missing Baldwin brother. We learn Andy was nearly destined to be a lawyer, and we locate the poor-man's Colin Farrell. Joining us in Damning the Man, with Empire Records at number 54.

It’s not Kev’s fault, it’s not Kev’s fault…that he has to watch films with maths being written on blackboards, it’s definitely Andy’s fault. This week we watch number 48 on the list, Good Will Hunting with a recurring guest who’s the same age now as we were in the 90s! We discuss who Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are to us and why Andy watched Good Morning Vietnam before Aladdin! We lament Robin Williams not still being with us to help Kev get over his romantic film issues and ask who wins the movie.
This week we invite comedy/horror guest Natalie back to the shop, not to watch a comedy horror (although we talk a lot about one) but instead number 48 on the list, Hot Fuzz! Kev puts Andy alongside movie greats before pulling him down for pretending to hang out with the cool kids! We discuss if this is the most British film on the list and go into the watching of it with very high hopes…can they be delivered on?

We’re officially into the top 50, which means we definitely know which way we’re going, up or down….right….right?? We discuss how much the movie is a film of 2 halves, whether Nick Hornby would be a good person to date and what dance we’d want at our funeral. We wonder how a phonebook had more information about people than the internet does and who we’re sending to the aliens to get our DVDs back. We don’t even know what High Fidelity means but here it is at number 50 on the list!

This week we go back in time and review the… bottom half of the list. We see what was the biggest mover, we debate if BMX Bandits should be higher, and we are exposed to yet more Andy movies 🙄 Andy completes the list replacing Four Lions, we discuss the whereabouts of Paul Hogan, Andy swaps the positions of 3 movies, we decide which is the best BTTF movie. And we really ask ourselves the tough question of...what would Eric Roberts do?
