Luke 2:41-52 - Jesus has promised to never leave us nor forsake us. But there is a danger that we can drift away from Jesus. We drift by making assumptions that He is with us and by not checking that we havent gone off without Him. We drift when He is not our No1 priority. We need to ensure that we keep close to Jesus because without Him we cant do anything. We need to keep close through prayer, meditation on His word, through waiting and looking for Him to lead us. If we do move away we need to repent, to return to Him, knowing that when we do- there He is waiting for us & loving us just the same.

Isaiah 11 - In chapter 9 and 10 Isaiah told Israel they were facing God’s judgment, the destruction of their nation. Then in chapter 11 he told them there was going to be a new king in Judah – ‘a shoot from Jesse’. Is this good news or bad news, a message of hope or despair?

Acts 15:1-35 - 1. When our differences arise from a challenge to the truth of who Jesus is & what has done for us; that we are saved through faith alone, then we have to make a stand.

2. We decide what is right and what is wrong by looking to God's word.

3. Where our differences arise from 2ndry matters we should bend towards what is helpful to our brothers out of love & in the pusuit of unity.

Acts 14:21-28 - What lessons can we draw?

1. The purpose of mission is to make disciples.

2. There will be opposition to face.

3. The work of mission is God's work.

Genesis 24:34 - Looking at Jacobs wife Rebecca and quest through leaving, lifting, leaning and enriching.

Are we on a quest for our eternal destiny ?

Acts 13:49-14:21 - Paul declares that their worship of idols is worthless. He reveals the reality of the Living God through the creation and he tells them to turn from these idols to turn to Him.

Matthew 2:13-23 - We see the sovereign power of God, we see the plan of redemption and we see the perfect saviour, priest and friend who knows us and understands us because He became like us.

Acts 13:14-52 - Paul preaches at Antioch. What is the good news he brings?

1. He reveals the Saviour - Jesus.

2. He declares the completeness of the salvation found in Jesus.

3. He challenges the congregation to believe.

Acts 13:1-13 - What we are called to do as believers, we cannot do in our own strength. The Holy Spirit is essential in the commissioning men and women for ministry, essential in defeating opposition to the gospel and essential in bringing the fruit of salvation.

Luke 2:21-39 - What do we know of Jesus' infancy? What does that teach us about Him?

He submitted to the law, He took the name "Jesus" and He became poor. He did all this so that He could be the saviour we need Him to be.
