Founder of DEFINE body & mind and TedX speaker Henry Richardson discusses positive interventions and meaningful ways to actively pursue a life of happiness, joy, love, serenity and all-around goodness.
Several years ago, nationally-renowned photographer Michelle Gardella left her life behind to spend 2.5 years traveling the US in an Airstream with her family. It wouldn't be the last time she lit a match to burn down what no longer served her; she also walked away from a rather successful instagram presence to separate from what wasn't working for her. None of us has been through a pandemic-induced quarantine before, but in my mind, Michelle has come the closest. In this episode, I ask her all of my questions about how it feels to let go of so much all at once and what she wants to let go of in the current storm we're all facing.
Same storm, different boats: while some of us are riding this quarantine out with Netflix shows and at-home workouts and serious isolation, others are with their families doing the parenting thing 24/7 and wondering what it might be like to be catching up on all that lost sleep. Is one easier than the other? I'm getting the lowdown on how the other half lives with Julie Lauren of "Hashtag No Filter."
Are your kids watching enough TV right now? Parenting Coach Randi Rubenstein wants to make sure.
Quarantine parenting is exhausting, but it brings up issues we can either run from or work on and heal from. While we're showing up for it all, remember to keep the TV on and give yourselves a break! You'll love what Parenting Coach Randi Rubenstein has to say in this episode about kicking back, setting the kids up with their favorite shows and making time for YOU.
On March 10th, I caught up with Megan Birkel on the #1 most-listened to episode of "Look Ma' No Hands." We discussed how she was cultivating a life she loved - running a successful hair accessories business and a pretty darn happy home. Her attitude was pure (and contagious) gratitude. I have been dying to catch up with Megan to hear how she's doing, coping and managing it all amidst our current pandemic (she's still running Willow Crowns out of her kitchen with two girls at home) and I wasn't surprised to hear that while she's certainly in the thick of it, she's taking things away from this crisis that have already left her forever (and very positively) changed. Have a listen to this episode to hear what Megan will be taking with her once this storm is over, and what she'll be leaving behind.
Several months ago, Natalie came on my show and famously recommended that we all time ourselves when we get ready in the morning (because it doesn't take that long!) Is all of that Melatonin really good for you? What about Vitamin C? How is stress really affecting our immune system and where do we even begin in trying to regulate it during uncertain times? Where do we start when it comes to supplementing and maintaining our overall health in the age of Coronavirus?
There's nothing like a pandemic to prompt us to take a deeper look at how we care for ourselves each day, whether by the food we feed ourselves, the regimens we maintain or the supplements we take. The moment I found out about the seriousness of the Coronavirus, I started making major changes to support myself both physically and emotionally in an uncertain time (we Roses now have geriatric bedtimes, rise with the sun AND take a whole bunch of supplements that I can't wait to tell you about in this episode.)
There's a lot of information going around about what we "should" be doing to maintain strong overall health in these uncertain times. That's why I asked my friend Michael Bischoff to join me and answer some of our questions and help us understand what's really important when it comes to getting and maintaining a strong immune system and nervous system.
Michael Bischoff is the president and founder of Glaxon, a supplement and sports nutrition company whose goals are to empower you physically, mentally and spiritually. In today's episode of "Look Ma' No Hands", Michael joins me to discuss a proactive approach to overall health and wellbeing in the age of Coronavirus, and why it's more important now than ever.
In my second virtual recording of "Look Ma', No Hands", I'm sitting down with Houston's well-known fashion designer David Peck to discuss the future of retail and shopping in a post-coronavirus world.
When my husband and I got married, we received three pre-marital counseling sessions from one of the Rabbi's who married us. After we had our first daughter, I always wondered what it would be like to go in for the "update": how do we take all the great guidance we receive before marriage and put it to use after kids are in the picture? In this episode, I finally get to ask all the questions I've had to Rabbi David Lyon of Congregation Beth Israel. His insight is like a warm blanket for the soul, and whether you have children or are just newly quarantined with your spouse, I think you'll find something really useful in what he has to say.
In my first-ever recorded skype interview for "Look Ma', No Hands", I'm chatting with Dr. Elizabeth Hentschel, psychologist and founder of "The Parenting Well", on coping with quarantine measures with little ones at home.
