Father Lazlo Totharini is a composite character, a conflation of Guido Sarducci, a hilarious “Saturday Night Live” character and Lazlo Toth, the equally hilarious pseudo-author of “The Lazlo Letters.” Both are creations of comedian Don Novello, who was famously arrested at the Vatican in 1981 for “impersonating a priest.”

At the urging of readers, I am entering the podcast arena, beginning with this early classic. The plan is to reissue some of the more timeless Loose Cannon stories as audio, read by the author. Mostly, these will be my history pieces or (attempts at) humor. After that, I may venture into the brave new world of guest interviews, song and dance, etc.
