Happy Lord’s Day!

Holy Mother Church commemorates today the Baptism of the Lord. This episode is focused on the Gospel reading of Year C in the Novus Ordo Missal. The Gospel reading comes from St. Luke 3:15-16, 21-22.

This episode isn’t focused so much on the baptism of the Lord itself, but rather another important aspect of the reading, that being the humility of St. John the Baptist. May we all learn to imitate the humility of St. John the Baptist when going before the Lord.

Happy Lord’s Day!

It is January 5th, AD 2025 and that means it is time for the beginning of “The Word of God with Lawrence Westfall!” Today officially kicks off this new ministry and this ministry is dedicated to the advancement of the Word of God for the glory of Holy Mother Church and the glory of Almighty God throughout the world.

This first addition is from a reading from the Introit of the Tridentine Mass which is Philippians 2:10-11. In this episode I have encouraged kneeling for Holy Communion. Since this pious practice and holy tradition relates to the Latin Rite of the Church it is not meant in any way to be negative toward those in the Eastern Rites and their respective traditions. I wanted to clarify so that what I have said may be taken in fair context and in relation to the rite which I currently belong too.

Pray for me as this ministry officially kicks off and know of my prayers for you.

As the Venerable Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen would say, so too will I continue what my patron saint has said in closings of both written word and speech in this podcast episodes…God Love You!
