Let’s welcome Michael Mesa one half of @DuodeCuerdas and a founding member of the FSU Mariachi and Mariachi Tallahassee as well as bass player for the ​⁠ based out of Tallahassee FL. Michael received his bachelors degree in violin performance from FSU in 2024 and since has been performing all over the southeast. Listen to his story of growing in a Cuban Ecuadorian household in the Miami area to embracing the mariachi culture.

Let's welcome Gabriel Salinas-Guzman a 2nd year masters violin performance from USF. Gabriel is one of the original founding members of the FSU Mariachi and Mariachi Tallahassee. Originally from Austin TX Gabriel received his degree in violin performance from Florida State University. Recently Gabriel has started his own channel critiquing violin melodies and stylistic viewing incorporating his classical background and blending mariachi regional influences. Listen to his story and where mariachi in the US is heading.

CarlosManuel Aceves was born in San Antonio Texa. He recently graduated with his Master degree in Musicology from Florida State University after previously receiving his bachelor's in music trumpet performance. Carlos is one of the founding members of what is now known as Mariachi de Oro Student Studio at Florida State University and Mariachi Tallahassee. Carlos coined the term (DCMR) Digitally Circulated Mariachi Repertiore in his thesis titled MARIACHI MEMORY THROUGH CAJÒN. Listen in to the story of the birth of contemporary mariachi music in Tallahassee Florida and what Cajon really means.

We finally made it to the finale. Let’s welcome your grand champion Aldo Gonzalez. Since this episodes was recorded Aldo has graduated with his music degree from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Aldo then also co founded the popular Latin boy band Iluzol located in the Rio Grande Valley.
