This song is produced by J-Glad and features Cross Claudia AKA Jazmin Swai as a writing credit on the song. The song is approached as if I'm having a conversation with my homegirl for the first verse and my homeboy in the second verse. Actually, at the very beginning of the song I state that I wrote the song for my homegirl and my homeboy - because I did. The chorus speaks to both of them at the same time as if I've pulled them both to the side and spoke to them collectively. In the conversation I'm having with them, I'm explaining that I know how it feels to make a large investment in someone just for them to let you down. The first half of both verses is me being empathetic to their individual situations and then the second half of both verses is me reminding them of their worth. It is an inspirational song, to a crossover-type beat, with a melodic hook and simple, yet complex, verses.
Currently, the song is featured on two mixtapes of mine that I released on 11/14/18: "Patience & Purpose" and "Rap Is Easy, Life Is Hard". Both of those mixtapes feature throwaway songs from my main project, called #TheOtherGuy, that I'll be releasing on Valentine's Day. There Are Two Sides and another song called Dom & Letty are the only songs featured on both of those mixtapes that will also be on #TheOtherGuy when it is released because they are my two pre-selected singles for that project.
