“Don’t take candy from strangers”…We tell the story of Lost Charlie Ross, a child abducted from Germantown, Pennsylvania in 1874. Charlie’s abductors sent multiple ransom notes, but were killed during a separate attempted robbery without ever revealing where Charlie was located. Over the ensuing years, several people claimed to be Charlie Ross, but none of their claims proved true. In a very Strange Familiars twist, while researching the story, Alison found that one boy who was thought, for a time, to be the lost Charlie Ross, lived in our home town!
