Rick Martinez has always had an intimate relationship with food. This eventually led him to leave his career in advertising and pursue a life in food. He walks me through culinary school, being a line cook at ABC Kitchen, working with me at Food Network, to becoming one of the Senior Food Editors at Bon Appetit Magazine. If you AT ALL enjoy food TV, this is the episode for you. I was clearly excited to see Rick because I sound like a crazy person this whole episode. Or maybe it was the extreme sugar high caused by eating an entire box of the single best cookies I have ever tasted. I even get a gift at the end!

Jenise Morgan approached me with an idea: She turns the tables on me and asks me 20(ish) questions, and that's what we did. She asks me about what I will wear when I'm older, what my wedding and funeral will be like, what I'd do if I could spend a day with Celine Dion, and we talk at length about Grey Gardens, taking a senior citizen tap class, and much, much more. I am so so SO delighted to be able to give the world this amazing interview with one of the most beautiful people I've ever known. Emily Perrott's mother Diane was basically the First Lady of our high school. She was diagnosed with cancer when Emily was 17 years old, and in this episode, Emily takes me on the emotional journey that was watching her mother die and talks about the years and struggles that would follow. I'm so proud of her for sharing her story and humbled that she would allow me to help tell it. This episode is obviously dedicated to her mother, Diane.
