How is it possible to rejoice and give thanks when your life is falling apart around you? Well, the Apostle Paul encourages us to to do just that, no matter what is happening. In one part of the sermon I quote from The People's New Testament Commentary by Boring & Craddock, pg 617.

Ephesians 1:15-23, All Saints Day

Our scripture today is from Matthew 28:16-20, the passage often called The Great Commission. At the end of this sermon, I challenge First Christian Church to decide how God has called them to serve the church, and to contemplate how God is calling FCC to serve the world. I encourage you to do the same. How is God calling you to serve God's people? How is God calling YOUR church to serve the world?

Preaching from Hebrews 10:19-25, we're looking at the ways a church family can and should encourage one another, and provoke one another to love more, and to do more good. In thr book of Acts, chapter 2, we see the birth of the Church and the gift of the Holy Spirit given to the Church. As we continue to explore the question, "Why Are We Here?" we hear how the newest members of this movement called christianity participated in fellowship, worship, study, breaking bread, and prayer. And we find out just how vital those practices are today.

Ephesians 4:7-8, 11-13, in an exploration of God's purpose for the Church, we are studying the scriptures to seek God's wil for us. We hope God transforms us in this process, and we pray you are transformed as well.

How does our perspective on life differ from God's perspective? And how does understanding that difference influence how we deal with difficult times? In addition to that, if we're worrying about the here and now, then we're probably not preparing ourselves for what's to come - and that's Jesus. Are we ready for the day when we meet Jesus face to face? What if He comes for us this very night?

Whe are your priorities in life? What is most important to you? Where do you put most of your thoughts and energy? The way we answer these questions shows us where our treasures are stored.
