This episode we explore Ashtanga Yoga and its origins from India. What does it mean to us in the modern world? How often should you practice? What other types of yoga stem from Ashtanga and what are the benefits? We sit down with Christina Mills of Liveology Yoga to discuss her healing journey with and through Ashtanga Yoga. Christina is a student and teaching assistant at Ashtanga Yoga Atlanta, studying under Todd Roderick since 2017. She is also the founder of Liveology Yoga Studios, where she shares information about the 8 limbs of yoga online and offers corporate wellness solutions. She also teaches Ashtanga RMX (putting her own flavor on the traditional style) and 6 week Foundations Series Mon-Wed at The Fitness Collective ATL. Christina grew up in Pasadena, CA, and is an alumna of the University of Southern California.
"If you've ever thought to yourself, 'There has to be more to life than this.' You're absolutely right. Yoga has turned my life from black & white into full color and has helped me to find the clarity and tools for personal empowerment that I was looking for.
I practice Ashtanga and teach yoga as a tool of healing, transformation, and spiritual growth having personally experienced the healing effects on my body and mind after a car accident. Even after the yoga practice brought me "back to normal," I began to feel better, happier, and more clear-headed, than I ever had before. Yoga enabled me to enjoy simply being alive in a way I never knew was possible."
