Chris Garrett first met the Haitian Orphan Children’s Choir when he was 14 years old. Though he was raised in church, had the opportunity to travel with the choir, and later go on mission to Haiti, Chris walked through a time of trials and tribulations that had him questioning the existence of God. In an attempt to live as a “man”, Chris started hanging out with a “fast crowd”, participating in a lot of drinking and lustful behavior, which was followed by mental health issues and suicidal thoughts. Nehemie has been in the USA for less than 30 days. Orphaned in Haiti, Nehemie lived in an orphanage under the care of Love Him Love Them and then graduated to the LHLT transitional home for young women aged out of orphan care. Loved and well-cared for, Nehemie shared that most orphans in Haiti don’t have the experience of God’s presence like where she was cared for. Nehemie has been praying for many years for an opportunity to escape the gangs of Haiti for a new life in America, and her prayers were answered. Zachery, a member of the Haitian Children Choir, landed at the Ft. Lauderdale airport on June 30, 2024. This story of bringing him to America began 6 years ago, when we first started working with Haitian officials to get Zachery to America. After many years of struggle and disappointment, and last-minute trials all the way to his flight departure from Haiti, Zachery finally stepped out of immigration in Ft. Jody Bell’s story is a story of hope and the miraculous. Throughout her life, Jody was codependent with a need to be loved. With her desire for attention, she looked for love in all of the wrong places. She got married, but lived a life of chaos, with Jody and her husband both drug users. The drug use and ensuing job loss, depression, and attempted suicide attempts left her lost and broken. One day she checked herself into a rehab program called Avita Clinic for 10 days, where she met a community with similar struggles and first heard about Jesus. It was here that Jody was invited to Lavonia First Baptist Church by a counselor at Hart Ministries, and she found the love and care of Christ though its people. Here she found Jesus again, which was the beginning of a changed life. Her husband also began attending church, and today Jody is 15 years free with she and her husband now leaders in ministry. Join us as we hear about Jody’s incredible journey.
