In this month’s episode, we talk about narcissism and love from two different angles: within the family unit (i.e. being the child of a narcissistic parent) and within romantic relationships (i.e. having a partner that is a narcissist).   We deconstruct what narcissism actually means and how the cultural definition differs from Narcissistic Personality Disorder. We identify typical traits of people who suffer from NPD, break down what it’s like being in a relationship with a narcissist, talk about how being raised by a narcissistic parent affects your ability to find love in the future, and give you a number of techniques to both deal with partners who suffer from NPD and undo some inherited narcissistic traits/learned behaviors from narcissistic parents.   Join us for this in depth, non judgmental conversation about narcissism and how it affects almost every person’s life.

In this month’s episode, we use a Toni Morrison classic to deconstruct how Eurocentric beauty standards affect how Black and Brown people are perceived by society at large, and how these same standards plague POC’s self perception within their own communities as well.  We talk about interracial dating, fetishization of black bodies, “mejorar la raza”, mixed/light skinned fixation within the black and brown communities, and more!

In this episode we take a break from analyzing books and ask each other a bunch of questions about love and relationships. We cover topics such as our first kisses, what constitutes cheating, what we want to teach our kids about love as parents, and more.
