Love Letters From Willowdale

That's a wrap! We recap the Family Guy x CTFA collab (wtf), Hunter's death as Olaf the Happy Snowman, and the rest of the season one finale.

What a long midseason finale that was! But we're back! In episode 5, we join Midge on a reckless drive, and admire the Heiland twins and their ability to tilt between frustration and sibling love. Wish we could be more like that.

How many ways can we refer to Midge Skyler as mother? Is Margaret Thatcher in Heaven, or hell? Who's Julia, anyway — and is she as iconic as Midge?

Has Alondra hallucinated us all? Is there a chance that Esmond is gay for saying bitchy? Will Hunter ever center himself? So many mysteries, so little answers. (yes, yes, and no.)

The recap goes on! In the second episode, Alondra, Hunter, Rachel, and Blake re-listen to "Cassette Tapes from the Next Day". Hunter shows off his new iPhone and reveals how he got it, Rachel thinks Lorena is such a good lesbian, and collectively the quartet ponders where the inspiration for Toni came from (also Alondra had a lot of feelings in high school).

Let's do a recap series! In the first episode, Blake McMillan (creator), Alondra Meléndez (August Heiland), Hunter Vasey (Toni), and Rachel Hardy (Lorena Skyler) re-listen to the Pilot of Cassette Tapes from August. They reveal the show's inspirations, August and Toni's gender identity, and scream about how bold Lorena is. Spoiler warning for season one.
