Today on Perry and Shawna Mornings, Perry doesn’t feel like doing the show. He doesn’t feel like being kind with Shawna today.  He doesn’t feel like being patient with Scott today.  Crazy talk right?  Being kind is a decision.  Being patient is a decision.  Love is a choice.  If we can really lock into that truth, we will be people who are learning to love well.  Then, not everyone is as easy to love. Last week Shawna’s temperature started to rise.  She was in a conversation with a group of people and someone just bulldozed her. Ran roughshod over her feelings.  She felt like checking out.  But then she remembered something.  And that made all the difference.  It’s a real life look at how to love difficult people. 

And finally Mark Jobe (President of Moody Bible Institute) shares that on his dad’s death bed he told Mark that he didn’t feel like he had done enough for the Lord.  His dad had been a missionary and pastor who with his family lived his life outside America sharing Jesus’ love in difficult places.  What Mark’s dad didn’t realize is the 1001 ways he impacted people when no one was looking.  But the hundreds who showed up at his graveside service revealed his impact.  As Mark flew home from Spain after that graveside service he admitted:  “Lord I don’t love like dad loved.  Change my heart.”  If you want to know what love looks like, you just need to hear about Mark’s dad.
