Episode 9: Emotional Safety First: The Foundation of Every Neurodiverse Relationship
One partner asks to talk about last night, and the other goes completely blank. This episode is for the neurodivergent adult who freezes, needs to leave the room, or can’t find a single word when a partner asks a question, and for the partner who reads that silence as a door closing.
Blaze skips the communication tips on purpose, because no strategy works when a nervous system doesn’t feel safe. In shutdown, panic, freeze or overload, even kind words can land as pressure. So safety isn’t a reward for communicating well. It’s the foundation that makes communicating possible at all.
Through Maya and Eli, the episode shows both sides of the couch. Eli isn’t silent to punish; his chest tightens and the words disappear. Maya feels abandoned and pushes harder, and “It’s like you don’t even care” lands on him like a blow. Neither is wrong; two nervous systems are trying to stay safe. The Home Play: write down three things that help you feel safe emotionally, physically and relationally, such as time before big talks, writing first, softer light, or a break that doesn’t put the relationship at risk, and share them if it feels right.
One Emotional Takeaway: Before we can love fully, we have to feel safe, and that safety starts with how we treat ourselves.

Episode 8: You’re the Right Parent: Supporting Your Neurodivergent Child with Confidence and Care
This one is for parents raising an autistic, ADHD, sensory-sensitive or trauma-affected child, whether the diagnosis came last week or years ago, and whether that child is a newborn or an adult. You love your kid deeply, you’re tired, you’ve heard the comments and the unsolicited advice, and you wonder if you’re doing too much, too little, or the wrong things.
Blaze calls what these parents are learning “nervous system kindness”: attuning to a child’s regulation, not only their behavior. She describes attunement like a tuning fork, finding the pitch of a tune you may never have heard before. Splashing water, pillow forts, heavy blankets and constant advocacy at school, the grocery store and family gatherings all count, even when no one else sees them.
Blaze shares what she hears over and over from the parents she works with: “I just want them to be safe. I want them to feel like they belong.” That presence, saying “you don’t have to be anyone else for me to love you,” is what changes things. The Home Play turns toward the parent: one small act for your own nervous system, like three breaths before responding or five quiet minutes in the car before walking inside.
One Emotional Takeaway: You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to stay in love.

Episode 7: Love Without Scripts: How Neurodivergent Relationships Thrive Through Authenticity, Not Performance
Most of us were handed a script for love without noticing: from movies, family, religion, school and social media. This episode is for the neurodivergent adult, especially women, girls and gender-diverse folks, who has been performing that script well enough to earn approval and still feels lonely underneath.
Blaze starts with Cinderella, a heroine with no needs who endures quietly until someone chooses her. That message, hide and shrink until you’re picked, runs deep. When your pace, energy and needs don’t match the script, you can start believing you’re bad at love: needing time to process when the script says talk now, loving through consistency when it says be spontaneous. Her reframe is plain: there is no one right way to love, only your way.
For Home Play, Blaze borrows a question from Byron Katie’s work. Write down three rules about love you’ve absorbed, like “If I need space, I’m pushing her away” or “Too much emotion ruins relationships,” and ask, “Is this actually true for me?” No overnight overhaul, just noticing what belongs to you and writing your own rules one sentence at a time. Is it easy? No. Is it worth it? Heck yes.
One Emotional Takeaway: Your love doesn’t have to follow a script. It just has to be true to you.

Episode 6: For the Neurodivergent Leader Who Loves Deeply and Feels Everything: Honoring Emotional Intensity Without Burning Out
You track the room, notice what isn’t said, hold everyone else’s tears, and keep your own grief tucked in a corner. This episode is for the neurodivergent leader, the fixer, the one everyone turns to, who leads while masked and goes home utterly exhausted.
Blaze reframes the sensitivity itself. Sensing energy and attuning deeply isn’t a flaw; it’s wisdom in a culture that rewards performance over presence and moves too fast to notice. Being a leader doesn’t mean you’re finished healing. You’re allowed to lead and still feel tender, to offer insight without having it all together behind the scenes. (She also calls herself “one woo,” not woo-woo.)
Instead of a composite story, Blaze guides a pause: hand on the chest, two questions, “What does the leader in me need today? What does the human in me need today?” and room for both answers. You can be a guide and a griever, a space holder and someone who needs space. The Home Play: one simple, sensory ritual just for you, like tea after every call, ten minutes lying down in silence, or a sticky note that says “I get to be soft too.”
One Emotional Takeaway: Let your work come from your nervous system, not at the expense of it.

Episode 5: Masking in Relationships: How Pretending Impacts Neurodivergent Love and Connection
Most people picture masking as something done at work or in public. This episode is about the quieter version: masking with the person you love most, and sometimes even from yourself. It’s for the neurodivergent adult who keeps saying “that’s fine” when it isn’t, and for the partner who senses something is off but can’t name it.
Blaze explains that masking in a close relationship rarely feels like a choice. It feels like survival, a way to stay connected. She calls it a brilliant adaptation that once protected you. The cost comes later: the relationship can look fine from the outside while one person feels invisible and the other feels like they’re failing, and the distance grows into a quiet grief neither of them chose.
Through the composite story of Harry and Sally (not that Harry and Sally), listeners watch Sally stop crying, stop asking for reassurance, and put her sensory preferences away, while Harry tries to fix, redirect, or shut down, and they slowly drift. Home Play is small: notice one moment you want to mask, then share one small truth instead, like “I’m a little overwhelmed right now” or “Can we pause for a moment?” You don’t have to unmask all at once.
One Emotional Takeaway: Every truth counts, even the tiny ones. You are safe to be seen.

Episode 4: A Love Letter to Neurodivergent Hearts: Affirmations for the Ones Who Feel Everything
This episode isn’t a lesson or a tool. It’s a love letter, read aloud, for the listener who feels everything and keeps showing up anyway. It’s for the neurodivergent adult who is still healing, still trying, still hoping, and who is tired of explaining why it’s taking longer than they thought it would.
Blaze speaks to the person underneath the performance: not the version with the perfect tone and timing, but the real one. She names the old messages plainly and answers them. You are not a burden, not too much, not broken, and not failing at love. Your love is not too quiet, your needs are not too complicated, and your healing is not too slow. If no one taught you to name your needs, you’re allowed to grieve that, and to feel the ache of what you didn’t get.
There is no composite story and no homework here, just an invitation to breathe and listen. Blaze reminds listeners there’s no timeline for becoming and no test to pass, only your breath, your body, your truth, and a tender heart that still wants to love and be loved. Listeners are left holding permission to build something new from the inside out, one breath at a time.
One Emotional Takeaway: You’re not behind. You’re always enough, just as you are.

Episode 3: Loving the Neurodivergent Self: Reclaiming Worth in a World That Told You Otherwise
“I’m too much.” “I’m too sensitive.” “I talk too much, I care too much, I feel too deeply.” This episode is for the neurodivergent adult who heard some version of “tone it down” from a parent, partner, teacher, friend, or boss, even when no one said it out loud.
Blaze offers one simple reframe that changes the whole picture: you were never too much, the space was too small. She explains how those early messages teach people to shrink, to speak less, ask for less, and sometimes be less. The parts others labeled too much are often the very parts that make you deeply, beautifully you, and your needs are simply human needs.
There’s no couple story this week. Instead, Blaze leads a gentle guided moment: bring to mind a time you were told you were too much, then imagine her, or a wise future you, sitting beside you and saying you were never too much, just never fully seen. For Home Play, write the words you wish someone had said, such as “Your questions make sense” or “I love how deeply you care,” and read them each day. Believing them can come slowly.
One Emotional Takeaway: You don’t need to be less of anything. You need a space big enough to hold your truth.

Episode 2: Sensory Sensitivity in Neurodiverse Love: Navigating Intimacy Without Overwhelm
You love your partner, and still you can’t bear to be touched when you’re overwhelmed. Maybe sound, light, smells, even affection push you toward snapping or shutting down. This episode is for the neurodivergent adult whose body gets full, and for the neurotypical partner who has taken that personally and wants to understand.
Blaze explains that love isn’t only emotional; it’s physical, sensory, and environmental, and neurodivergent bodies often have a different threshold for input. Needing space isn’t rejection. It’s loving from inside a sensitive body that needs different conditions to feel safe. Much of this happens below awareness, which is why many people only put the pieces together after a diagnosis.
Riley, who has ADHD and seeks movement, music, and deep touch, and Sam, who is autistic with a sensitive nervous system, kept missing each other: Riley felt rejected, Sam felt flooded. Things shifted when they treated sensory safety as a shared language, asking “Do you have capacity for touch right now?” and reaching for dim lights and weighted blankets. Their love didn’t get smaller; it got safer. Home Play: notice one sensory condition that opens you to connection and one that leads to overwhelm, then share it.
One Emotional Takeaway: Your need for space isn’t pushing love away. It’s building love with boundaries.

Episode 1: Drawing the Circle Wider: Creating Belonging for Neurodivergent Love and Life
So many neurodivergent people spend their lives standing just outside the circle. Not always pushed out, but never quite invited in. This first episode of Love on the Autism Spectrum is for anyone who has felt too much, too different, or quietly tolerated rather than wanted, whether in a relationship or in their own head.
Blaze opens with Edwin Markham's short poem about the circle that shuts someone out, and the love that draws a bigger one and takes them in. From there she names a belief many neurodivergent adults carry: that love has to be earned by making yourself smaller, simpler and easier to understand.
Then she slows everything down with a guided imagery moment. You picture yourself at the edge of the circle until someone walks toward you and, instead of asking you to change, redraws the line with you inside it. The episode closes with this week's Home Play: notice one place you've been standing outside the circle, name it without fixing it, and finish the sentence "I'm drawing the circle wider by…" in your own words. There's no right answer, just your way.
One Emotional Takeaway: You belong as you are, not after you fix your tone, explain yourself perfectly, or stop feeling too much.
