Sunday discussion…..we haven’t had one for a while. . How do you rate your sewing self? . . Do you feel inspired or angst when you see other’s sewing? Do you lack confidence and think twice before posting? Do you double guess what people might be thinking? Do you think “will my post get any likes?” and that little voice of self doubt creeps in? Or do you just look? . . Importantly, how do you rate yourself? . . If you’re not rating yourself as good enough or better….or being your very own cheer squad then you’re letting yourself down. We can all be our own “good enough”. Not perfect. . . The SewOver50 community is very supportive from beginners (yes, we all started there so we know what it’s like ) to intermediate to our gifted couture sewers. The only difference is practice….not passion or you wouldn’t be here with us. . . So, share your passion. Suspend that self doubt and post. After all, when it all boils down to it we’re not in it for the “likes” we’re in it because we sewing. . See @sewcialists post 11 June about connecting with the online community…so many fabulous ideas in the comments. (Swipe right for the post photo). . C’mon and shine! . . How do you rate yourself? We’d love to hear your thoughts. . Do tag us at #sewover50 so that we can see what you’re up to. #memademay2019 @papercutpatterns Kochi jacket and @seamworkmag Aurora tank, mended and modified RTW pants that are on their final threadbare days. . The boys enjoy taking pics downtown so it was easy to give them a fashion editorial challenge for a change. Currently two of them are deep into making bread in the school’s microwave during lunch . New fave make! My striped linen #kalleshirt The length is somewhere in between the cropped and tunic length, and I used the hemline of the tunic length, with less scoop in the back. Went with the full button placket because that’s my favourite look. I made a straight size 20 and the fit is great! I love wearing it buttoned all the way up also wearing my #morganjeans Fabric is from @graylineslinen in NYC. . #memadeeveryday #handmadefashion #sewing #indiesewing #plussizesewing #
