As an inclusive artist, creating a safe space for all of our guests is important. We created this message discussing our core values in inclusivity and accessibility for people who identify in marginalized communities : Black, Indigenous, Transgender, Female, Laintx, Queer, people of color and with special needs.
We hope to continue working with you and meeting new friends along our journey by creating a healthy relationship of mutual love and respect for one another.
On this episode we discuss with Ray Grey (@RAYGREY2017) from Manny's Art Gallery - Tattoo & Piercing,
Ray has been a Tattooist/Piercer of over +27 yrs. As a Hopi-Tewa artist, Ray advocates towards better understanding how cultural appropriation is an issue in profiting of the history of indigenous people, and how certain symbols should be honored in tattoo space in order to respect the culture of Native Americans in the United States. We discuss about the racist history in the earlier days of tattooing and how new issues are evolving as we enter a new era of social media exposure.
Thank-you Ray for educating us on a special cause - the MMIW movement. We want to honor and promote the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women organizations across North America. According to Wikipedia, "human-rights crisis disproportionately affects Indigenous peoples in Canada and the United States, notably those in the FNMI and Native American communities", if you would like to learn more about this please visit https://mmiwusa.org to learn more about how you can help spread awards to missing people in our communities.
In this special episode for the month of Oct. we discuss superstitious tattoos, also cursed tattoos that artists can refuse due to personal beliefs. We mention evil eyes, black cats, and other commonly associated bad luck tattoos.

In this episode we discuss how the tattoo community will adjust and move forward with COVID-19 rules in place at large conventions. Along with our personal experience at California Golden State Expo 2021, over a year and a half after the pandemic began, many of us in the industry were uncertain if customers would turnout for the event that would require vaccination proof or a negative rapid test. For more information on the people interviewed, checkout, "Tattoo community adjusts to COVID-19 safety measures at Golden State Tattoo Expo" on TalonMarks.com
In the 2 part episode we discuss a sensitive subject and that is sexual harassment in the cooperate world. June 15th 2021. On this special day, our state wide mask mandate has been eliminated in California, and while COVID-19 restrictions has eased, every industry will approach the new normal under their own personal protection rules to ensure the safety of both employees and customers. In this episode we discuss the origins of tattoo in ancient times, along with natural remedies if there were any to begin with, and what tools were used to start the process. Thank-you to John whom was our 1st guest ever in this Podcast series, and a special friend that believed in the project.
