We saw last week that our Lord and Savior that he was crucified and He died upon that tree. And now we're going to look at some individuals and how they responded to him after he had died, and we're going to focus in on one man named Joseph and a group of women who had followed him from the Galilee to Jerusalem and watched and observed not only his death, but also where he was buried. And what's also important is how he was buried.

We all know that the most important event ever in human history is the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Messiah, Yeshua, Jesus of Nazareth. But in order for him to rise from the dead, first, he needed to go to the cross. He had to be crucified, and we're going to see that that crucifixion was an act of humiliation and shame and disgrace. And what's the message for us? That is what sin brings upon us, shame, humiliation and disgrace.

It is important that we know the biblical God. And for some reason today, people believe that there is a difference between the God of the Old Testament and the God of the New Testament. And that is simply false. When we look at Scripture, we see that our God, it says in the Book of Exodus that he is a man of war. Now the word man is also related to personality, and what the scripture is telling us is that God's personality is that he makes war. Why would that be?

We all want God to work in our life. We want him to move in our situations. And in order to ensure that God is going to be responsive to our prayers, we need to consider ourselves as his slave. Now in the Scripture, there is a word. Many times we find that Bibles translate this word as a servant, but when we get to the heart of that word, it means a slave, someone who is absolutely in bondage to another. And the point that we need to see concerning our identity in the Messiah is that we become slaves of God.

Again. As the people of God, we are called to live very differently. And what makes us to live differently? The truth of God. We can say that differently, the wisdom of God, the purposes of God. And when we look to his word, we will find knowledge and understanding and wisdom that that the world cannot receive, but because we have been born again, regenerated, that we are that new creation, we can take the truth of God and apply it to Our life and even greater works we will do because we have trusted in our Lord and Savior.
