Oral health and development might not sound glamorous, but trust me, I could talk about it all day. Maybe it's because I was that rare child who actually loved going to the dentist (weird, I know). At one point, 10-year-old me actually wanted to be a dentist... but thankfully, I grew out of that phase #doulasrock.
More likely, it’s my own experience with mouth breathing that made me obsessed. Spoiler: mouth breathing = oral health problems. So now, I can’t not share everything I’ve learned, whether people ask or not (sorry friends and family 😅).
In this episode, we dive into:
Why mouth breathing is more than just a habit
How breastfeeding shapes your baby’s jaw, palate, and airway
What to do if you’re formula feeding (hint: you still have great options!)
How to support your mouth-breathing toddler
And yes… what to do if you mouth breathe too (no shame, I’ve been there)
If this topic lights you up (or you just want to breathe better and help your baby do the same), tune in and let’s nerd out together!
