There are thousands of Muslims living with us in West Michigan and across America:  Students, classmates, co-workers, neighbors.  The Lord has brought them to us.  He’s given us an open door to share his love with them.  And to help us with this is Tim Harris.  Tim and his wife Miriam live in West Michigan and have co-authored the new book, Loving Your Muslim Neighbor.  First, more Muslims have come to Christ in the last ten or twenty years than in all the fourteen centuries of Islam.  Why?  9/11 and prayer! 

 

Then, at the time Tim didn’t know anything about reaching Muslims, and yet the Lord used him to lead Abdul to Jesus.  And he can use you!  Next, there’s a stereotype:  “All Muslims are terrorists.”  Not true:  Hear about four Muslims that represent what many Muslims are really like.  Then, a LOT of Muslims are disillusioned with Islamic radicalism.  Some say, “If this is Islam, I don’t want it anymore.”  That’s why Tim’s friend, Hassan, decided to follow Jesus.  Next, we talk about the massive difference between religion and the gospel. 

 

Then, reaching out to Muslims can be hard.  But so worth it!  Tim shares about his friendship with Ali.  How it took over four years for Ali to move from completely disinterested in Jesus to follower of Jesus.  It’s because Tim and Miriam kept loving him.  Next, we talk about one thing you can do right now, without any training, to reach Muslims with Jesus’ love.  Then, how do we get “God so loved the world,” beating in our chest?  Finally we take on this fear:  “What if Muslims take over America?”  Please share this if you’re encouraged!
