26 September 2024 - ORLEANS, MA - The 2024 summer season on Cape Cod continues the "new normal," setting the post-pandemic era baseline. The summer saw small incremental growth, but the biggest area of growth, according to We Need a Vacation which has long-term use data, appears in the shoulder seasons.

27 September 2024 – YARMOUTH, MA – In a pilot project, 100,000 scallops are being released into Bass River, with hopes the babies will multiply into several million individuals per year in the future. Friends Of Bass River and the Town of Yarmouth say limited scalloping could return to this historically and culturally important estuary by next year - more than 50 years after the mollusks virtually disappeared.

20 September 2024 – CAPE COD, MA – Cape Cod's beauty is all around us, but look up or you could miss some of it. The lack of light pollution allows the sky to put on a show every night studded with galaxies, planets and stars. The Cape Cod Astronomical Society and the Cape Cod National Seashore co-hosted the third annual Dark Sky Festival at Marconi Beach to illuminate the public about our cosmic neighbors and the importance of the night sky for earthly life.

Originally envisioned as time for locals to reconnect after the tourist season Eastham Windmill Weekend wraps up the summer for the 48th time with music, food, a parade and lots of candy.

13 September 2024 - WELLFLEET, MA - The Oldtimers Longboard Classic surfing competition rode the waves for its 50th year at White Crest Beach in Wellfleet on August 18. The event embraces surfer and lifeguard culture and forms and iconic part of the Outer Cape's history.

27 August 2024 — For some, the summer says lobster rolls and clam chowder — but for others the food focus is on hungry kids. Food4Kids just completed its 12th season under a new director, and delivered more than 700 meals daily this year reflecting the widespread food insecurity on Cape Cod.

28 August 2024 - ORLEANS, MA - Lt. Governor Kim Discoll celebrated the Commonwealth's new Affordable Homes Act at the former Gov. Prence hotel in Orleans, which is slated to become affordable housing.

24 August 2024 — ORLEANS, MA — Orleans's newest cannabis dispensary kicked off its grand opening with what it hopes will be a yearly reggae and community party. The shop sees its Orleans store as a flagship outlet, with several other stores across Massachusetts to follow.
