There is a distinct difference between achieving and expectations. Whether it be on self, others or the world around us, this inner work on the expectation of others not meeting our own needs and wants is central to being a better version of ourselves. 

The act or mindset of allowing ourselves to be at the mercy of other people and situations out of our control too often, is in my view walking a tightrope of duress, stress and anxiety that we really don’t need in our lives. 

Try setting the bar a bit lower, make the jump over a little easier on yourself and for others regardless of if they are in alignment with our own values or not. It does help!
