Why did God choose shepherds to announce Jesus' birth? Luke 2:8-10 tells us that shepherds were keeping watch over their flock when an angel appeared, announcing the birth of Jesus. To the people of that time, shepherds were considered unclean and lowly in society. They were the lower class of people. Yet God chose them to be the first to hear the good news.
