Nimona is a 2023 animated movie directed by Nick Bruno and Troy Quane, and available on Netflix. The movie is an adaptation of ND Stevenson's graphic novel of the same name, and is set in a sci-fi/fantasy world of knights and monsters. The movie features the voice acting talents of Chloë Grace Moretz, Riz Ahmed, and Eugene Lee Yang.

We reviewed the graphic novel on episode 67 back in January 2022.

Season 2 of the Disney+ animated series The Bad Batch was released weekly from January to March of 2023. The 16 episodes continue the story of Omega, Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, Crosshair, and Echo, as they travel the galaxy and learn more and more of what the Empire has become. While most of the season followed a mission of the week format, the last 4 or so episodes really cranked up the action and story, elevating the end of the season to a great ride in the Star Wars universe.

This week, Linnea, Evan and their friends went to the local Pride Festival, and talk about their reactions to the event.

Season 3 of The Mandalorian first aired on Disney+ from March through April of 2023. The 8 episodes followed our main character Din Djarin and his little pal Grogu, but also veered off into other characters, factions, and storylines that felt somewhat out of place. This week, Evan and Brian have a brief discussion about the show.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is the 2023 animated film that serves as a sequel to Sony Animation Studio's wildly successful 2018 film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Once again, we follow the adventures of Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy, as they leap between dimensions to try and stop the latest super-villian, The Spot. Along the way they meet friends both new and old, explore their growing relationship, and carefully navigate the relationships they each have with their families.

Sony's animated movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse debuted to critical acclaim in 2018. The movie follows the life of Miles Morales, a teen-ager of African-American and Puerto Rican descent, who is bitten by a radioactive spider and if thrust into a battle with Kingpin to stop a world-ending trans-dimensional super-collider from being activated. Assisting him in his pursuit are several Spider-people from alternate dimensions, who are trying to help save the world but also return to their respective homes.

Filled with heart, humor, and ground-breaking visuals, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse wowed audiences and won the award for Best Animated Feature at the Golden Globes.

This week we discuss the unique universe inhabited Marvel's group of super-hero misfits, the Guardians of the Galaxy. The ensemble cast includes series veterans Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, and Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, and the movie was written and directed by James Gunn.

This week we're pleased to present part 2 of our interview with game designer Charlie McCarron, creator of the board game Four Humours. In part 2, we talk about the art for the game, some of the other games Charlie has worked on, and whether a person can work as a game designer for a living. In Four Humours, you are a medieval doctor who travels the kingdom and uses potions to win over the citizenry. Big Hero 6 is a 2014 animated Disney movie loosely based on a Marvel comic of the same name. In the movie, 14 year old Hiro Hamada tries to solve the mystery surrounding the untimely death of his older brother Tadashi. Hiro is joined on his mission by Baymax, a huggable health-care robot build by his brother, along with a group of Tadashi's college friends. As their adventure unfolds, they become super-heroes who save the city from a mysterious villian out to destroy his enemies.
