  • WHEN TRUTH BECOMES OPTIONAL
WHEN TRUTH BECOMES OPTIONAL.[The Dangerous Drift of a Deceived Generation] 2 Timothy 4:3–4 (KJV) In a world where opinions often replace God's Word, the Apostle Paul warns that people will eventually reject sound doctrine and choose teachers who tell them only what they want to hear. This message reveals the danger of abandoning biblical truth, the consequences of spiritual deception, and the urgent need to remain faithful to the unchanging Word of God. Jesus Christ is the Truth, and only those who build their lives upon Him will stand firm in a generation that has lost its moral compass. Paul reminds Timothy that his ministry is performed before Almighty God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will one day judge every person. Therefore, a minister's responsibility is not to entertain people but to faithfully proclaim God's Word whether it is popular or unpopular. What is the greatest truth you will ever hear? God loves you so much that He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for your sins, to be buried, and to rise again the third day, so that everyone who repents and believes in Him can have everlasting life. The greatest lie is not simply one told by another person. The greatest lie is believing that you can reject Jesus Christ today and somehow be ready to meet Him tomorrow. The choice you make about Jesus Christ is the most important decision you will ever make, because it will determine where you spend eternity.

  • The Climax of Covenant-Shaped Lives -We Do Not Grieve the Divine Builder of Christ’s
Ephesians Series, Message 34 "The Climax of Covenant-Shaped Lives— We Do Not Grieve the Divine Builder of Christ's Church" Ephesians 4:30 17This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, 18having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; 19who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. 20But you have not so learned Christ, 21if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. 25Therefore, putting away lying, "Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor," for we are members of one another. 26"Be angry, and do not sin": do not let the sun go down on your wrath, 27nor give place to the devil. 28Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need. 29Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. 30And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. (NKJV)

  • An Unmistakable Command
The sermon challenges believers to pursue intentional godliness and Christlikeness rather than merely tolerating sin or focusing on cultural issues. Drawing primarily from 1 Peter 1, listen along as Brother Sommerdorf outlines four commands for spiritual maturity: tightening one's thought life, maintaining a heavenly focus on Christ's return, growing up by rejecting former lusts, and stepping up to the comprehensive calling of holiness. The message emphasizes that godliness is not self-generated but results from conforming to the character of Jesus through constant contact with Him. True Christianity is defined by exhibiting the same merciful and humble traits as Christ in all areas of life. Ultimately, believers are urged to terminate tolerance of sin and actively pursue a lifestyle that reflects their Savior's nature.

  • Vessels of Honor
The sermon emphasizes the believer's call to become a vessel of honor by departing from sin and remaining holy. Drawing primarily from Isaiah 52, the message contrasts the Old Testament priests who carried physical vessels with Christians who are now the vessels carrying God's presence. It urges listeners to possess their hearts in sanctification rather than succumbing to worldly lusts or nominal faith. The preacher highlights that true victory comes through continuous dedication and surrender to Christ, not merely intellectual assent. By living a life distinct from the culture, believers demonstrate the genuine fruit of the Spirit to a watching world.

  • Jesus' Teaching on Anger & Lust - Matthew 5:22-30 | Sermon on the Mount Week 6
This morning we continue a larger section of the Sermon on the Mount where Jesus describes what TRUE righteousness looks like from God's perspective. This was very important to clarify since the religious leaders of Jesus' day misinterpreted this AND their misinterpretations had become the mainstream thought of Judaism. These misinterpretations were costing Jews potential entrance into the Kingdom of Heaven. The first two areas of clarification involved the sixth and seventh commandments of murder and adultery.

  • Love is Tenacious
Jesus says that the evidence of eternal life is that we'd rather gouge out our eye than settle into the sin of lust.

  • You Have Committed Adultery
This sermon examines Jesus' teaching in Matthew 5 on the seventh commandment, exposing the inward sin of lust as equivalent to adultery. The preacher argues that true righteousness requires a radical mortification of sin, urging believers to take drastic measures to remove temptations from their lives. Rather than relying on self-effort or superficial fixes, the message emphasizes that holiness is found only through dependence on Christ and the Holy Spirit. By confronting the destructive nature of sexual sin and the futility of hiding behind 'fig leaves,' the sermon directs listeners to find hope and purity in the finished work of Jesus. Ultimately, it calls for a heart transformation where believers gaze upon Christ's beauty rather than forbidden desires.
