Is an ideal family child centered or relationship centered?Relationships are related and connected to everything we do. And without them we have nothing, hope you agree with it. If not then let me know your logic or reason about it.

Following are some factors that can ensure optimism in children:

1. A supportive network and environment in which healthy and fulfilling relationships take place is the best way to live in my view.
2. Children are born with natural optimism. And that can be maintained in an optimistic household.
3. How the parents see difficult situations in their life effects the children. If the parents see setbacks as challenges than defeat and have the attitude that they will navigate through the situation and not choose to blame, then the children can learn to resilient, optimistic and ready to move on.
4. Parents who have a good, genuine, respectful, and caring relationship
5. Parents spending quality and meaningful time with their children.
6. Parents must model consistency and empathy
7. Family support, harmony and stability is helpful in creating optimistic environment.
8. In order to face the challenges in the world, children must feel trusted, safe, and confident at home
9. Provide your children realistic goals by practicing and modeling them yourself

Humans of Oslo was started up in July 2012, one year after the 22nd July 2011 terrorist attacks in the heart of Oslo and on the island of Utøya. There weren't any projects in Oslo or Norway which focused on diversity from an international perspective and which portrayed a true picture of the capital's inhabitants.

Iffit Qureshi founder and photographer behind this project decided to focus on who people are and not their ethnicity, faith or sexuality. Humans of Oslo was going to be unique in Norway, where people would be viewed as people and treated with the respect and dignity they deserved.

At the same time Humans of Oslo would give Oslo people a sense of pride in the city and teach them about the people they share a common space with.

What's your parenting style?

Experts have identified multiple styles of parenting. Here are a few that I found.

1. Permissive Parents

2. Authoritarian Parents

3. Indulgent or Bulldozer Parents

4. Tiger Parents

5. Neglectful or uninvolved Parents.

I believe parenting should be kept on a spectrum. No one should be of one style or the other. We are all combinations of various styles. Now of course it depends on your background. Like I was brought up in South Asian household and society. So I knew what is the usual style of parenting there. However, because I had my children in the US, I picked and chose best of both the worlds. I think it worked to some extent. However, both parents should be fully involved and must be on one page. Parents should not be manipulated or allow children to come between them in their upbringing especially.

The main goal is to build confidence in your children. I will be Sharing some tips on raising Confident and Optimistic children in coming weeks. What’s your parenting style?
