How they make you feel is not who you are

Your value isn't determined by what others think of you but by who God says you are

Those you serve the most, often appreciate you the least

What's normal isn't celebrated; it's expected

Just because they don't notice now, doesn't mean they won't notice later

Jesus has been there!

Jesus did not retaliate when he experienced rejection

Jesus did not retreat when he experienced hurt

Jesus responded to hurt with an invitation

What you attempt to control the most often reveals where you trust God the least. 

You don’t always have the power to control, but you always have the power to surrender. 

Questions to Ask When You’re Tempted to Control 

Is it worth my concern?   

Is it mine to control?  

Is it for God alone? 

Jesus was concerned His disciples could easily grow comfortable in their waiting for His return. His challenge to them—and us—was to be ready, to live in such a way as to still have an urgency in the waiting and be prepared for the coming of Christ.

In Revelation, John charges us to live a life of faithfulness to Jesus regardless of our trials and tribulations. We are assured that where there is judgement for the sins of the world, there is also mercy from the One who has overcome the world.

Even in the midst of many signs, we won’t know what day the Lord will come. Speaking to His disciples near the end of His ministry, Jesus placed the emphasis of the topic not so much on when the end times will come, but on how we live within them.

Near the end of His ministry, Jesus shared with His disciples that He would return someday. His challenge was to keep watch, not living focused on what’s fleeting, but instead living with the end in mind—Jesus will return as the King and Lord of all.

God didn’t create us because He was lonely 

God created us because He is love

Sometimes God gives us what we need before He gives us what we want.

In Every Church...We are all someone who can be changed.

When you trust in Jesus, what's true of him becomes true of you.

I am not going to try harder.

I am going to surrender more deeply.

Out of my trust and surrender, I will "make every effort".
