This is the second half of the "Oreo Cookie" section in Mark 5. In this section we'll see more of the Father's heart as we see Jesus relating to two people who each approached him with humility and faith. This message was given at Living Water Community Church, Ypsilanti, MI, by Pastor Clark Cothern on June 19, 2022.
Mark's Gospel contains some interesting literary style and in today's passage we'll see how one story (Cookie #1) is interrupted by another story (the filling), and then the wrap-up to the first story becomes Cookie #2. We'll see how Jesus displays his compassion and authority by helping a Synagogue official and a woman who had suffered for twelve years from a medical condition that no doctor could cure. This message was preached by Clark Cothern on June 5th, 2022.

There's another Memorial Day that we connect with in the Old Testament. Mark Elwell helps us make this connection as we look at various passages that give us a deeper appreciation of the Passover and how that factors in to helping us remember what Christ did for us and why it was necessary.

In these parables, Jesus shows us about how God works in bringing forth growth as truth of the gospel message begins to dawn on them. It grows almost imperceptibly at first, and it's a mystery as to how it's taking place. We'll see three reasons to trust God to continue revealing himself to those we are praying for who haven't crossed that line of faith yet.

In Mark 4:1-20 Jesus introduces a series of parables by telling the "parable of parables" so those who are eager to learn more will understand why he teaches that way. This parable also helps us understand why some people "just don't get it." This message was preached by Pastor Clark Cothern at Living Water Community Church, Ypsilanti, MI, on Sunday, April 24th, 2022.

God has placed eternity into the hearts of human beings. We all have questions about what happens when we walk through death's door. This passage (1 Corinthians 15) helps us answer many of those questions and shows us what kinds of bodies those who are in Christ will have in heaven.
