We are encouraged to know that there are still saints of God, living victorious lives. God is still saving, sanctifying, healing, and blessing His people.

After Jesus’ resurrection, He appears to two men on their journey to Emmaus. (Luke 24:13-35) He shares with them scripture about the Messiah and the things that were prophesized. Jesus speaks to us on our own “Road to Emmaus.” Do we understand what He is teaching us in His Word? Do we recognize Him?

As Jesus hung on the cross, he uttered seven last phrases of great meaning to those contemplating his passion and death. Jesus didn't do a lot of talking on the cross. It was as if he were alone in his pain -- silent for the many hours he hung there, except for a few words. These Seven Last Words of Christ from the Cross provide a window into who Jesus is, a way to understand through his own last words what is ultimately important to the One dying on the cross.

On his priestly ephod, Aaron wore pieces of onyx stone, engraved with the names of the 12 sons of Israel, on his shoulders while he was before the Lord. Exodus 28:9-12. We do this by faithful intercessory prayer for our brethren in Christ.

Do you have idols in your life? If you are curious, ask yourself, how would I feel if this were suddenly taken away from me? “The Christian life is a process of God breaking our idols one by one.” Are you ready to weed out those things that get in the way of true worship?
