During teenage years children are in a developmental stage from pre teen to teenage.
At this stage, they are doing exciting new things, and discovering new boundaries which can be a minefield for them. They push boundaries, throw tantrums, assert their own independence.
This makes for complicated parenting, especially because teens are beginning to make decisions about things they feel strongly about eg friendships, school and some issues around them.
This means that having a healthy and trusting parent-child relationship during the teenage years is more important than ever for the wholesome development of the teen.
