  • #24: Lyme Ninja - Miss Diagnoses – Cartoonist, Author, The Miss Diagnoses Blog
This bio is pulled directly from Miss Diagnoses' blog.
I’ve spent the last few years learning to cope with pain and and not dealing with the root causes. Coping with pain takes a lot of time and money: acupuncture, physical therapy, osteopathy—you name it, I’ve tried it.
I have lots of brain fog, yet I need to research; this is one of the reasons I started this blog. I spent the last few years being too depressed to do anything at all. Now I want to find others who share my illnesses or relate to me, and to tell the crazy stories of my life, because life with chronic illness is truly crazy!
Although I just got a Lyme diagnosis, 2014 was the first year (since my low point in 2009-2010) that I felt my health was improving. I hope I’m not jinxing things by saying that. It’s a long, slow road, but I hope I continue to get better.

  • #23: Lyme Expert - Stephen Leslie – Author, Healed From Chronic Lyme Disease My Journey
Like many who suffer from chronic lyme disease, Stephen Leslie had repeated doses of harsh antibiotics only to discover his condition was not improving, but was getting worse instead. A a result, he stepped away from western medicine to pursue alternative medicine and return to his roots of meditation and prayer. After many months of meditating and praying, he received a healing dream that pointed him in the direction of a treatment system— an herbal remedy combined with lifestyle and diet changes— that brought his Lyme disease under control. Two years later, all traces of his chronic lyme disease were gone.
Stephen has published several books, speaks at lyme support groups, and advocates people taking charge of their lyme disease treatment. He believes it is possible to heal Lyme disease without the antibiotic regimes prescribed by Western medicine, and he encourages people to explore treatment options.

  • #22: Lyme Expert - Andrea Caesar - Author, A Twist Of Lyme
Andrea H. Caesar earned a BA in international relations from American University in Washington, DC, and an MA in teaching from the School for International Training in Vermont. Caesar currently lives in Lakes Region, New Hampshire, with her daughter where she continues her fight against Lyme and its associated co-infections. This is her first book.
When she moved to Barrington, Rhode Island, Andrea Caesar was an active, happy, vivacious ten-year-old who loved to play kickball and hang from the monkey bars. A year later, Andrea had trouble catching her breath while running, was plagued by migraines, and battled constant muscle aches. Andrea had changed as a person; she was the kid who was always missing school. Although she did not know it at the time, she had contracted Borrelia burgdorferi, better known as Lyme disease.
Caesar, who was finally diagnosed at age thirty-six, shares a raw and honest look inside the mind of a woman tormented by treatment in her pursuit of wellness. She chronicles her life from age eleven through her diagnosis and subsequent treatment, recalling her emotions as she struggled with Lyme, its symptoms, and multiple related infections—all while attempting to live a normal life. Driven by her determination to help others with the same affliction, Caesar provides details on what worked, what did not work, and why.
