  • Episode 26: Pediatric Primary Lymphedema

    MI PHAM

Lymphedema can be an overwhelming disease to process, learn about, and to create a routine for. It is especially overwhelming when a new parent or any parent of a young child has to do that while still trying to create a normal childhood for their kid. This episode is devoted to primary pediatric lymphedema to help make this process easier for you parents.

You are {{!!AWSOME!!}} and your kiddo is lucky to have you in their corner.

In this episode I talk a little about Camp Watchme and I invite you to listen to the episode on camp to learn for yourself how it could benefit you and you child with lymphedema (primary or secondary or lymphatic malformation—it doesn’t matter)

I will cover secondary pediatric lymphedema in an episode to come, so stay tuned for that. Please email me if you have any questions concerning pediatric lymphedema.

  • Episode 24: International Lymphoedema Framework Conference review PART 1

Did you know that just a few weeks ago hundreds of clinicians, patients, and researches from more than twenty countries met in Chicago to learn about current Lymphedema research, education, and treatments available! When I heard about the conference in late April it was too late for me to make plans to go. Lucky for us Nancy and Kasey are willing to share their notes on the conference.

  • Episode 23: Summer Travels by Planes, Trains, Automobiles and Cruise Ships.

Summer to me is about making new memories, soaking in the sunshine and longer days, while visiting new places. This summer my husband and I are taking a road trip North to Nebraska…a long 9+ hour road trip is in my future. While I am extremely excited to visit a new state or two, I am not very excited about the hours spent sitting in my Tucson.

Today’s podcast will help you better plan and prepare for traveling if you have Lymphedema or are traveling with someone who has Lymphedema. Flying causes a unique type of fear when travelling due to the pressure change. Road trips even short two or three hour drives can cause some anxiety about increase swelling and tightness. Often people won’t even consider travel due to the headache they are trying to avoid. It doesn’t have to be miserable to travel. All the advice given can be applied to either form of travel, planes, trains, automobile or cruise ship but I broke down each form of travel for specific tips. I hope you enjoy this episode. Please share you travel pictures with the hashtag #lymphedemapodcasttravels for me to see where you go!
