Hey folks. Trevor DeSaussure here again with Lyrics and Lattes to bring you another Hot 16...Oh my gawd!!! I get it! J Cole dropped an album. Do you know what- do you know what you guys sound like in my inbox right now? Jermaine? Yeah. Cole? Yes. (Cries in unintelligible) We're doing it today. We're doing it right now, Que the lyric! All the pain you hold makes you worth your weight in gold (hums in angelic). All the pain you hold makes you worth your weight in gold. Every negative thing that has happened in your life happened for a reason. It's also provided you with an opportunity. Learn and grow from your past mistakes. Because if you take the knowledge from those opportunities presented to you, you've made yourself worth your own weight in gold. Alright! I did it! I did it! There's your J.Cole breakdown. Don't ask me again. I ain't doing it again...I'm just playing. Yeah, probably will. I, unfortunately, have to do another rest in peace this week. Paul Mooney passed away yesterday. On behalf of the entire Lyrics and Lattes crew, rest in peace, rest in power to another legendary human being.

I know you want it
While I’m willing to teach you how to make these milkshakes I need to charge... what I’m worth. Stop working for nothing and calling it experience.
All The research, the time the energy that you put into your craft... what’s wrong with being compensated for it?
Oh, cuz You don’t think you’re that good?! Look, Anyone asking you to use YOUR skill to benefit THEM is evidence of your value. Charge what your worth. No discounts. No deals.
Because YOUR time is not dependent on THEIR budget.

Episode Summary
We were invited to speak to a class at Youth Build Inland Empire about podcasting. We instead decided to to tape a live episode with them all as guests so they could experience it themselves. Listen is as we talk to the kids about not feeling ashamed about being a beginner and be okay with early failures.
For over 40 years, YouthBuild has supported the mission of YouthBuild programs around the world by providing training, technical assistance, information systems, opportunities to promote sustainability, and other expertise to ensure maximum quality and impact. Millions of young adults are too often defined only by their struggles with unemployment, poverty, and crime. Traditionally known as “disenfranchised,” “marginalized,” “disconnected,” and “at risk,” these young people aspire to improve their lives and communities. These young people are typically defined solely by their challenges, not by their potential. They urgently need – and aspire to earn – knowledge, training, and opportunities that lead to long-term professional and personal success.

Hey folks, Trevor DeSaussure here from Lyrics and Lattes to bring you another Hot 16. The past week has been hard for hip-hop. We laid DMX to rest, we lost Black Rob, and we lost Shock G. This is just a reminder that tomorrow is not promised. Do what makes you happy now. That all said, today's lyric is coming from Black Rob, from his song, Star in Da Hood. Ain't nun post-traumatic about it, it's just deep. It's like trying to live out in the suburbs and stay street. Every next level of your life will demand a different version of you. It's called growth, but there are some parts of the past that you need to leave behind you. If you're happy being stuck in the same stage of your life, so be it. But I know a lot of you aren't take certain lessons with you. Take certain people with you, but know when you need to make cuts. Growth and maturity are a key part of life. And after a while, the only thing holding you back from success is you. I've had to do a lot of RIP's lately. One final, one to DMX, an RIP to Black Rob, and an RIP Shock G. On behalf of the entire Lyrics and Lattes team, take care of yourselves everybody.

Hey, it’s Jason Wallace with the lyrics and lattes podcast where we use music to inspire you. Today hot16 is chopped and screwed from George Floyd himself aka Big Floyd.
In this game you can't play or your pieces won't last
So you gotta stay strong, aint no time to be folding
You gotta stay strong - ain’t no time to be folding.
Look, this trail ended with guilty on all three counts. And while this is a small victory... keep fighting. we gotta stay strong,
Strength is built built adversity. Your ability to keep pushing despite the outcome is what makes you strong ... So whatever you’re feeling right now, pain, fear, or victory. Don’t slow down. Keep fighting. Stay strong. #RIP George Floyd
Hey folks, Trevor DeSaussure here with Lyrics and Lattes to bring you another Hot 16. I realize this isn't our normal program, but we're working on some really cool stuff in the background. Join us next Monday for our full episode. In the meantime for this episode, we're going to Wale. N****s on they high horse? Cool, I'm investing in gLuUuUuee! Here's the thing folks time and energy are precious. If you're focusing any of those things on someone else and it isn't benefiting you then that's a waste; and the same can be said for anyone doing that to you. Because what they don't see while you're steady building their steady wasting their time, energy, and resources on something that may make them feel good in the moment; but ultimately doesn't get them anywhere. The premise of this lyric is, "Cool, do you." And with that we're out.
