  • North Melbourne Kangaroos List 2020 - Joeys held back by lame Roos
North Melbourne have a surprisingly good youth core developing and some great older players to teach them, but they are still shackled to too many stragglers. Is it time for North to cut free and speed up the regeneration?
We take a look at North Melbourne's list build, contracts, free agency, trade and drafting options, as well as who might need to move off the list to make room.

  • Adelaide Crows List 2020 - Crows better for woes
The Crows had a good offseason in 2018 and 2019. We've called it for 2 years now, and it's got to be more of the same from the Crows to move forward. They've got some great mid career talents for building the next finals team on, they just need to get the rest of the pieces in place and give them time.
We take a look at Adelaide's list build, contracts, free agency, trade and drafting options, as well as who might need to move off the list to make room.

  • Flying Solo on my Confirmation Biases
So Sean is still sore and unable to sit in front of the microphone for any meaningful length of time, so I thought I'd put together a short solo episode. Sorry if my voice sounds weird at all, I found it hard to talk for 25 minutes without taking any breaks.
In this episode I tackled my biases, especially any confirmation bias I have around Essendon, Richmond, and the Hawks, as well as Will Gould, Hayden Young vs Lachie Ash, and my preference for South Australian U18s players over Vic Metro players.

  • AFL rules changes that will make a better game
Apologies in advance for the poor audio on my part. After comments made post-match by Alistair Clarkson, we decided to take a look into some proposed rule changes and how they may play out in reality. We are always keen to leave the game alone and let clubs adapt, but these suggested changes shouldn't alter playing styles, and will just be for the good of the game. Let us know what you think.

  • From GF location to which average age is average
This is a highly diverse episode where Sean and I touch on multiple topics, ultimately finishing and focusing on age profiling of clubs, and whether knowing about the average age of a club is useful.

  • Breaking up a Champion Team - Should clubs have a "Last Dance"
We (mostly Sean) have been reflecting on the hit documentary "The Last Dance", where [SPOILER ALERT] then GM Jerry Krause decides that the 97/98 NBA Season will be the last for this legendary Chicago Bulls team, with the rebuilding to start with a new coach and new players.
We want to take a chance to reflect on whether you should ever break up a premiership winning team, particularly a dynasty team like the Cats of 07-11, or the Hawks of 13-15. We'll also look at current clubs with an experienced age profile and review moves they could make in the offseason.

  • Footy is Back (and so are we)
Footy is back! Thanks everyone for understanding while we took a break, but we are now well and truly back as the restrictions have eased. Even after we finished recording this, we couldn't stop smiling as it felt like a return to normality, and footy returning will help that too.
We are changing some things with the tech and audio setup, so let us know what you think, and if we got something (anything) wrong. Cheers to all.

  • On Pause and Wanting to Add Value
Hey everyone, we are going on a temporary pause to avoid veering away from the stuff we are good at. Without much to analyse and assess at the moment, we are at risk of being just another news outlet speculating. Once we have a solid idea of the way forward and something to discuss, more episodes will come.

  • COVID-19 - Which clubs benefit comparatively from the break?
We are almost half way though what was announced as the minimum break in the AFL season, and we thought it would be a good time to access which clubs are most likely to benefit (comparative to other teams) from the break. We also take the chance to revisit the draft age conversation.

  • Expansion vs Relocation: How the AFL should break ground on new frontiers
Caro certainly lit a fire under North Melbourne staff and fans last week when she mentioned the words "relocation" and "North Melbourne" in the same breath, and while both Sean and I are believers that North should stay where they are, we thought it was a good time to look into the concept of relocation as an alternative to league expansion.
In this episode, we compare both relocation and expansion, touch on what we are likely to see in the next 10 years, and discuss the pros and cons of the most likely expansion locations.
