The Macropad RP2040 makes a great MIDI tester for sending Bank select messages to your favorite software synth or hardware synth with USB MIDI Hosting.

You can play a few keys, switch quickly among Bank patch presets, and even send CC and PitchBend messages! All written in CircuitPython.
