The toxic storm is raging all around them as Nux and another pursuit vehicle tail the War Rig. But the unnamed War Boys stick themselves between a Rig and a whirling vortex and soon find themselves flying through the air. This awesome sight leads Nux to utter one of the most recognizable phrases from the movie.

Nux shouts to warn Slit about the incoming sandstorm which gives Max the opening he needs to catch the War Boy off guard. But Slit isn’t going down without a fight and takes one of Max’s boots as he’s left behind in the dust. Despite the danger and uncertainty, Nux speeds headlong into the storm on the hunt for the War Rig.

Nux has to fall back due to the damage his car sustained trying to attack the War Rig so he tells Slit to move Max to the back in order to counterbalance. Meanwhile, Immortan Joe and his War Party close ranks and prepare to enter the storm. Likewise, Furiosa covers her face and puts the hammer down, heading full speed into the swirling clouds of dust.

Furiosa has nowhere to go but forward, straight into a massive toxic storm. Rictus realizes that she intends to shake off the war party in the storm, but Nux is determined to stop her before she ever gets that far. Ace confronts Furiosa after finally realizing that his commander has led him and his War Boys astray.

The Excavator rips into the War Rig with it’s spinning blades as Ace shouts for the War Boys to focus their attacks on the hydraulic systems. Slit takes this to heart and disables the sawing arm, which causes it to swing wildly around and nearly decapitates Max, but it also releases several explosives which blow the Excavator to pieces.

With only the Excavator remaining, the War Boys focus their efforts against the mighty machine, but their weapons continue to glance off harmlessly, even Nux and Slit cannot damage the beast. Meanwhile, Furiosa is visited in the Rig by one of Joe’s wives, the Splendid Angharad, who has emerged from her secret hiding place.

The harpooned Buzzard car swerves back and forth, trying to free itself, but it only succeeds in having its roof ripped away. This opens the Buzzards up to shoot at the War Boy, Morsov, but the War Boys are strong-willed and with a plea for witnesses, Morsov throws himself at the Buzzards, obliterating them completely.

The Buzzards unleash their ultimate weapon as Nux and the other Citadel forces catch up with the War Rig. Slit is quick to start his assault on the Buzzard’s Excavator, but his thundersticks cannot penetrate the thick armor. As another Buzzard car swerves to attack The Nux Car, they’re quickly harpooned by the War Rig.

With one escort down and more falling by the moment, the War Boys fight ferociously to repel the attacking Buzzards. One attacker is destroyed by the only remaining escort vehicle, while Ace and Furiosa work together to destroy a pair of Buzzard cars attacking from the other direction. The first wave is defeated, but the Buzzards have more in store for the War Rig.

With their sights set on the War Rig, the Buzzards descend on the convoy. Furiosa is the first to spot them and instructs Ace to ready the War Boys for battle, despite his assertions that they turn tail. The Convoy presses on, but it’s not long before the first escort falls victim to a devilish trap set by the raiders.
