  • Two Birds And One Scone meet The Blind Dog Cafe
In a segment we're going to call "Two Birds, One Scone" maDCap interns Kristy Nguyen and Alana Pedalino chat with Cullen Gilchrist, co-owner of the Blind Dog Cafe located in the Shaw neighborhood of Washington, D.C. What's unique about Blind Dog is that they're a pop-up cafe only operating from morning til around 4pm. The evening hours it reverts back to Darnell's, a bar named after its owner, Darnell.
This interview took place outside. On the patio. While some lady kept trying to interject. Back off lady!
There will be a second part to this episode where we get to try some of the eats!

  • 'Vacationer' Kenny Vasoli on maDCap Airlines' maiden voyage
Escape winter's chill with maDCap Airlines...right this way, we have your ticket reserved. Your travel companion is Kenny Vasoli, lead singer and bassist of the band Vacationer. maDCap caught up with Kenny backstage at Philadelphia's 'Budweiser Made in America Festival.' As a native of the nearby Jersey suburbs, Kenny was especially pleased to perform in his proverbial backyard. Vacationer lays down soothing sounds while Kenny's vocals exude an inviting familiarity: to know him is to love him. So sit back, relax, and enjoy maDCap Airlines' maiden voyage with Kenny Vasoli. Visit http://VacationerMusic.com for music, tour dates & social media links.
Special thanks Julie Lichenstein, Brittany Pierce, Bari Lieberman & everyone at MSOPR, Budweiser, the Made In America Festival.

  • Without Further Ado, an Irreverent Coversation with Riff Raff
I'm not sure where to begin. Once upon a time, we tried to interview Riff Raff at a festival. We approached him as he was throwing lawn chairs off of the deck of his trailer. He agreed to do interview.
Unbeknownst to us (and perhaps to himself as well) he responds only in freestyle. Are these freestyled answers good? You be the judge. Just know that Riff Raff has no time for your opinion.
Enjoy this conversation about absolutely nothing.

  • On The Mall With Ross Mathews Discussing Jay Leno, Capital One and Sam Clemens, i.e. Mark Twain
    So, here's the deal:
Tomorrow, Jay Leno (I'm hoping everyone is familiar with who he is) is being given the honorable Kennedy Center's Mark Twain Prize for Humor. The event takes place on October 19 and it will air on PBS (definitely make sure to check your local listings) on Nov 23 at 8PM.
We discussed many different topics: why comedy is important, what Jay Leno means to him, Capital One and their sense of humor and lastly, Ross' inability to tell an appropriate banking joke.
Special thanks to Ross and the good folk over at Capital One for helping arrange this interview.

  • ODESZA Makes Music Perfect for Sexual Activity
In this episode, we speak with Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight, a powerfully melodic duo that goes by the name, ODESZA. Hailing from the creative and often dreary city known as Seattle, we interviewed them before their show at U St Music Hall in Washington, D.C. As always, thanks to the good folks over at U Hall for setting us up.
Range of topics discussed in this interview are quite wide. From country music Christmas carols to celtic music, we discussed it all.
    Enjoy.

  • Polyphonic Spree's Tim DeLaughter on Growing Up in Pumpkinville and the One Person Who Pushes Him
This was a fun one. Truth be told, one of our girlfriends recommended we interview Tim. She thought it'd be interesting. And it certainly was. This was recorded in the cafe at the Black Cat, a venue located off of 14th St in D.C. Special thanks to the Black Cat for turning off the ceiling fan and the music they normally listen to as they craft their delicious meals.
Seated at a booth, Tim DeLaughter gave us his story. It was filled with triumph, sadness and rebirth. I'm not going to give away any more than that.
Special thanks also go to Greta and Denver for helping arrange this interview.
To keep up with Tim and the Polyphonic Spree...
