Summer is almost over! I hope yours has been full of time in nature.
I spent a very HOT summer day chatting with my friend and apprentice, Ari. I originally met them in Atabey, a BIPOC Herbal Medicine Program, last year. I quickly knew that they were a gifted channel for Spirit, and I was excited to get to know them better. Over the span of this year, she and three other folks have become my Creative Cauldron Apprentices. It feels like an easy and dreamy extension of the magic and medicine that we were steeped in during the previous year. In this episode, Ari (they/she) shares how connecting with their Spiritual Practice took disconnecting from colonialism and patriarchy, the many ways they experience Spirit and live in an constant dreamy realm, and how important laughter and pleasure are to us and our Ancestors.

Solstice Blessings! Yesterday, I had the pleasure of spending Solstice with this lovely human. It felt sweet and familiar, like when Juniper and I used to live in the same community house. Lots of giggles and insight occurred while in her presence on the longest day of the year and when we recorded a couple weeks ago. In this episode, Juniper (she/they) shares all the ups and downs of their Spiritual path in the most whimsical yet straightforward manner. Leave it to this Fae-like being to tell the most intriguing tales with a sparkle in her eye and smile on her lips! From almost dying to Quaker Boys, heart healing meditations and re-finding God, you'll be happy you joined along on this adventure!
Juniper is a poet, artist & soon to be doctor of Chinese Medicine. She lives in PDX with her sweet familiar (tiny dragon), nesting partner, & about 300 pillows. You can find her most recent book, change is a prayer I'm learning to love, on Amazon. Find her writings, thoughts & songs on IG @juniperwrites . If you are in the Portland area, get in touch with her this fall for acupuncture healing sessions at her upcoming practice, honeydrop healing.

Solstice Blessings and Hello Summer!
What does it mean to embody the energy of Crone? Today, I honor and celebrate the playful and pleasure-focused nature of Trina Hazel (she/her/human,) the Elder of our Coven. We discuss how she has walked her Spiritual path, what it meant for her to step into the role of Crone, her hesitancy to embrace the term, and some of the people and beings that have mentored her along the way. She is funny, fierce, nurturing and a gifted Medium. I'm excited to share her story as an inspiration of how to bloom into Maturity and Wisdom.
Today's episode will likely be the last of Season 2. It is the final interview of all my coven mates, and I'm hoping to take a few months away from the podcast and one month off of work to enjoy the lovely weather we are just staring to have as Summer officially kicks in to gear. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for Season 3 coming out this Fall. I'm looking forward to interviewing other folks that I love and respect, and whose Spiritual paths are just as inspiring and interesting. If there is anything in particular you'd like to learn a little more about in Season 3, then let me know on my IG page @magicfromtheroot
Have a fabulous, playful, joyous summer!

Hello Friends! Happy Spring!!
Welcome to another episode of Magic From the Root. We are still in Season 2, and in today's episode I interview Miss Emily. She is one of the most grounded and embodied humans that I know, a momma to a magical little human, wife to a supportive and masterful musician, a skilled bodyworker, talented dancer and all-around kick ass human. If you've been listening to this podcast, then you already know that she is also who I've been sitting in circle with the longest. Emily and I started our current coven together many moons ago. We've been friends for about 19 years and have known each other in various lifetimes of our existence. I'm excited to share her story today, and I hope that it inspires you to get more into your own body as a Spiritual Practice.

Happy Winter Solstice!
In this episode, I interview my coven mate. Angela (she/her) is a momma of four (soon to be five), a plant lover, garden witch, and fairy-like being that I am blessed to do plant medicine work with. Don't let her quiet voice and sweet demeanor fool you, this woman is powerful! Her connection to the plants, Spirit, and the Old World Ways are strong. What a treat to chat with her on the Full Moon! We end the episode with a tarot reading from O'Dell. Enjoy, and may you rest deep during these winter nights while welcoming the slow return of the Sun throughout the days!

In this Samhain episode, I interview my coven mate and sweet friend, Bee. They are an indigiqueer human of mixed decent that uses they/she pronouns. Bee grew up in the PNW and is an artist, creator, sound & energy healer, a walker between worlds, a fire & pole dancer, a deep believer in magic, and what I would call a Liminal Light Being. Their magical practice is deeply connected to the tree & plant people, the crystal & mountain people, and those who have passed into other realms and dimensions.

Have a Happy Halloween, a beautiful Blessed Samhain, and a Felíz Día de Muertos!
I was blessed to spend the transition from watery Cancer season to firey Leo season while living it up on the sunny beaches of the Big Island of Hawaii! What better place to steep in the magical healing properties of Grandmother Ocean and sit in the transformative lap of Pele, a Goddess of Fire. While I thought I would record while vacationing there, I stayed present with my body and am instead recording on this Magical portal of Manifestion, 8/8.
In this episode I'll share a bit about my journey and the sweet medicine I experienced in the elements of Hawaii, what the Lion's Gate is and my intentions around it for 2021, and O'Dell will offer up a tarot reading to close.
May you manifest all your deepest dreams today and live BIG!
Happy Solstice!
Today I'm sharing an interview with my dear friend T. Aisha Edwards (xe/she). Xe is a fire breathing light warrior, somatic liberationist, writer, Healer, and the proud child of Jamaican immigrants. I've done Solstice rituals with Aisha for several years now, and I was excited to invite xer into my Coven in 2020. In this episode we talk about having Imposter Syndrome, Decolonizing Spirituality, Hyper-empaths, Seeing Spirits, and how it all connects to xer work as a therapist. There are lots of laughs, an epic gold power suit, and some sweet tips for your path in this chat. Enjoy and Solstice Blessings to you and yours!
