On episode 10, I spoke with Colin Bedell of QueerCosmos about A Course in Miracles and navigating divine assignments and soul connections. Colin is a horoscope writer at Cosmopolitan magazine and has a recently published book called A Little Bit of Astrology: An Introduction to the Zodiac as well as a forthcoming book called Queer Cosmos: The Astrology of Queer Identities and Relationships. Colin was a speaker at the 2017 Sister Giant in Washington D.C and at a recent online summit called Fresh Voices in Astrology. Besides being an astrologer, Colin works intimately with A Course in Miracles, and I invited him on the show to learn more about miracles and how we can develop a deeper connection to them. May 01, 2019 The Beauty of a Darker Soul with Josh Mantz
On episode 9, I had a conversation with one of my grad school cohorts Josh Mantz about his book The Beauty of a Darker Soul: Overcoming Trauma Through the Power of Human Connection. Josh is a former army major who was shot and killed by a sniper and flatlined for fifteen minutes, and was brought back to life. Four months later he was back on deployment, and a year and half later he was on a national public speaking circuit and was able to leverage his story as part of a military initiative to empower others to access mental/behavioral health treatment. The years following his death/rebirth, or his "second life", presented Josh with emotional challenges that led him to write this book dealing with themes of shame and trauma. And, we talked about Josh's astrology.

Bokhara is a business owner in the Bay Area. I have had profound breakthroughs through conversations with her and so I wanted to have a conversation with her on the show! I wanted to ask her about the term “lifestyle entrepreneur” that I learned from her, the concept of designing your business or your work in the world to compliment a lifestyle you’d like to have. We also ended up talking about how powerful having a gratitude practice can be, and how to practice gratitude while still sitting with hardship - so no spiritual bypassing here! ;) Bokhara's perspectives about life are thorough, balanced, and refined, and whenever I talk to her I get the impression that there is no difficulty in life that I couldn’t address meaningfully. We talked a little bit about how the people we spend time with influence us — and I’m sure you’ll feel the influence from this grounded, intelligent soul.
