Leadership Coach and Value-Driven Entrepreneur
Richard Holliday, founder and director of a premier tech recruitment company, discusses his spirit of helping others to create impact. From a young age, his friends and he were finding charities to donate to. They would put on neighbourhood performances and donate all of the raised funds.
He states, "I liked the feedback you get from people when you help them...Always do the best you can."
He is dedicated to helping people answer the question of how to find purpose and passion in life. Starting in recruitment, he went on to build his own company which he later sold to gain back more valuable time with his family.
My key takeaways
Richards interview is a very real one with him sharing that his riches of life and successes have been born through an immense focus of determination at the most crucial and critical times. He has a great understanding of his patterns of behaviour and what drives him through success and adversity, whilst realising that the experience of adversity is a key component to success. Richard talked about how our growth never ends. We have goals based around a particular cause with a clear vision of the impact we want to create and rightly so we become very focused on these. What's really powerful to remember is those goals, that may be focused on the next five years or so, they are not the end, they're instead a sentence, paragraph or chapter in our book of life, offering many lessons and opportunities for things that we are not yet focused on or aware of. How can we be when we have not yet met our future self and have no idea as to where our passion is going to take us in our years to come - that is beyond exciting to me! What's clear about Richard is his understanding of the value of getting to know yourself; observing our own patterns offers great insight into where we are and what we can do next, consciously, to get desired results and give something our best shot. We can be really clever to notice how a positive emotion or experience drives us but to be aware of what drives us, to take our next step, when we're feeling despair in the midst of our most difficult experiences, that's personal development at its best! Such a powerful interview with Richard. Very humbling to listen to someone share so much about their everyday human experiences. Which of course after piecing those days together, these become our life - my time with Richard isn't about fireworks, it's about life!
