What does it look like to live life connected in Christ? In Acts 2 we see the early church devoting themselves to the Word, to each other, to God’s presence, to prayer, to generosity, to consistency, and to mission. This picture of biblical community is what God still calls us to today.

We are reminded that following Jesus is better, together. True community means being intentional: studying Scripture, gathering in worship, engaging in groups, practicing generosity, praying, and living on mission so that others come to know Christ.

Peter’s first sermon in Acts 2 shows us the power of the Holy Spirit and the clarity of the gospel. In Acts 2:14-41, Peter explains three things:

What happened — the Spirit had come.
How it happened — Jesus was raised from the dead and is alive.
Why it happened — to save sinners.

This message reminds us that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Repentance, faith, and baptism are God’s call for all people.

The book of Acts begins with the promise of the Holy Spirit and the ascension of Jesus. In Acts 1:1–11, we see a powerful foundation for the mission of the church:
