కొందరి కష్టం లోకానికే ప్రాణం (what is mRNA Vaccines, will it help with Covid? ) | TELUGU PODCAST | EP-5
mRNA (messenger Ribonucleic acid) mRNA vaccines are a new type of vaccine to protect against infectious diseases. Traditionally vaccines for a viral disease contained a dead virus, which upon injecting into a person will activate the immune response to the virus and hence making a person immune to a live virus if they ever get infected. There were risks to this traditional method such as a person getting the disease or getting allergic or sometimes worst Whereas mRNA does not contain a dead virus, but rather mRNA does not have any virus in it.
mRNA medicines are instructions that direct cells in the body to make proteins to prevent or treat diseases. mRNA is a significant achievement by mankind. Traditionally vaccines take a long time to develop and test, but with mRNA development and testing, vaccines can be done at an accelerated pace.
Some of the companies which are currently approved for developing and distributing mRNA vaccines are PFIZER, MODERNA, AstraZeneca.
