Hello, my dear friend, I'm so glad you're here!
Welcome to Episode 47 of Maiko's Story Photograph Podcast :)
Autumn is a season of harvest and farewells. About two weeks before the recording of this episode, my maternal grandmother passed away at the age of 96. In this episode, I'm revisiting one cherished autumn memory I had with her - we made a Halloween pumpkin together. Living the moment is special, but the memory of that moment is no less special and touching. I wonder what cherished memory you'll recall after listening to this episode.
Now, make yourself a cup of tea, and let's spend the 6 minutes together in the cozy room of a story photograph!

Welcome to Episode 46 of Maiko's Story Photograph Podcast :)
Today's story is about a small culture shock I experienced when I first came to Canada 10 years ago. The word "culture shock" tends to indicate something big and fundamental, but often it can be very subtle and even silly. The "culture shock" I share with you in this story involves a muffin that I happened to eat one day. What about the muffin surprised me, do you think?

Welcome to Episode 45 of Maiko's Story Photograph Podcast :)
Sometimes, a strangest situation makes a moment unforgettable. Today's story is about the memory of a thunderstorm I watched with my mother when I was about four or five. It was just one of the many thunderstorms of the summer, but this particular one was permanently engraved in my hear because it happened while I was having a bad fight with my mother.

Welcome to Episode 43 of Maiko's Story Photograph Podcast :)
Have you had an experience when you saw somebody, you thought they were somebody you knew and spoke to them, only to realize that they were total strangers? I certainly have had many - especially when I was younger and a lot more care-free. It's such an embarrassing feeling especially when you look at the person's face and realize that you don't know that person at all, and moreover, that person looks back at you with a blank face! Today's story is about the time when I was about seven or eight and spoke to two strangers in a park while visiting my great aunt in Tokyo with my mother. The way these two people responded to me was so special that it stayed in my heart forever.

Welcome to Episode 42 of Maiko's Story Photograph Podcast :)
Can you recall the time when you were little, playing with your friends, and adults told you to go home because it was getting late? Usually, when an adult says that, it's final, nonnegotiable. At least, that's what I had known from my own experience with my mother. But one day, my piano teacher surprised me by taking a little different approach toward his son and his friends in a truly unforgettable way.
Now, make yourself a cup of tea, and let's spend the 6 minutes together in the cozy room of a story photograph!

Welcome to Episode 41 of Maiko's Story Photograph Podcast :)
As we walk through our days, doesn't it often happen that we suddenly think of someone in a most random way? This week, one person that has been on my mind was my father, and I recalled several very funny memories. They were so absurd that I burst into laughter upon remembering them. But the funny part is that I had never really appreciated the funniness of these incidents before. In this episode, I share with you a memory of my father's intuitive gardening and how it once caused a big scandal in my house.
