Main Event Marks

WWE was floundering a bit, as far as money and ratings, in the fall of 2002. However, they were pumping out banger after banger on PPV. This was no exception! Raw GM Eric Bischoff introduced the brand new Elimination Chamber at this event and said that the World Heavyweight Title would be on the line in the hellacious match. Also on the card, Trish Stratus and Victoria do battle in a Hardcore match for the Women's Title, the Cruiserweight Title is on the line as Jamie Noble defends against Billy Kidman, we get a 6-Man Tag Team Tables Elimination match to open the show, 3 teams with 6 of the best wrestlers in the world fight for the WWE Tag Titles, and much more! Also, in the news, we discuss the ongoing financial issues with the WWE, TNA keeping Vince Russo around, the World Wildlife Fund continues their lawsuits with the WWE, and much more!

Sting has been promising a SURPRISE tag-team partner to take on the team of Kurt Angle and Kevin Nash. He also promised that his partner is someone from Kurt Angle's past who he rubbed the wrong way. That man...was Booker T. The rest of the show was hit-or-miss. It started rough with Shop of Horrors match where we were introduced to Rellik (which, of course, is "Killer" spelled backwards), but we pick it up with a tag match after that, a good X-Division Title match later on, the over-the-hill Steiner Brothers get a Tag Title match, an amazing ladder match gets ALL THE STARS, Robert Roode tears it up with Samoa Joe, plus much more. Also, in the news, a legend has passed away, matches get announced for Survivor Series, WWE cleans some house, John Cena has a negative run-in with CNN, there's some cross-over between WWE and Ghost Hunters with hilarious results, Lex Luger is in bad shape, and much more!

Trying to out do the WWF's Royal Rumble, WCW had 3 rings, 60 men, and 3 giants. This certainly was a spectacle that was something to behold. Most of the rest of the show was actually one of the better shows of all of 1995, having Ric Flair vs. Sting, Johnny B. Badd vs. DDP, an awesome Joshi tag match, and Chris Benoit vs. Kensuki Sasaki for the US Title. Of course, it was 1995, so we also had to sit through Big Bubba Rogers vs. "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan in a Taped Fists match and a bad match between Lex Luger and "Macho Man" Randy Savage. We also had a babyface Hulk Hogan being a huge heel on this show by cutting an entire promo lying to the fans about Savage's injury, trashing a dirt sheet, and then at the end of the showing, crying and whining because he didn't win. 1995 was weird. In the news, we talk about a new wrinkle in the WWF Steroid Trial, the WWF getting edgier, Sabu having to pay to find out he was fired, and an MMA show being booted from New York City only to hold it at a secret venue with a secret crowd...and it sucked. All that and more on this week's podcast!

The very first ever TNA Bound for Glory took place in 2005 and even though it was dubbed as the company's biggest show of the year, not everything was a hit. One major miss was putting Jeff Jarrett against Kevin Nash in the main event. Jeff Jarrett just screwed Raven out of the World Title and Raven was kept away from the main event. Meanwhile, Kevin Nash got legitimately sent to the hospital, leaving Jarrett without an opponent. That lead to this becoming the night of...Rhino...for whatever reason. Also on this card, the Ultimate X match plays host to a pretty bad botch. Samoa Joe has a pretty good match with Jushin Thunder Liger. AMW defends the NWA Tag Titles against the Naturals...again. There's a fairly entertaining Monster's Ball. We also get the return of a legendary tag-team. In the news, a Midwest wrestling legend has passed away, Jim Ross may be gone from the WWE as the McMahons make an offer to a possible replacement, Team 3D isn't pleased about losing a trademark battle, and Ken Shamrock continues his MMA downfall.

On October 11, 1999, this was Vince McMahon and the World Wrestling Federation planting their flag at midfield on WCW's home turf. WCW Nitro had packed out the Georgia Dome multiple times in the past, but now, the WWF was bringing their flagship show, Raw is War, to the Dome and laughing at the miserable state of their competition. Stone Cold Steve Austin was back from getting hit by a car and he sees red while going after WWF Champion, Triple H. All things are not great between tag partners, X-Pac and Kane. Mark Henry is going through sex therapy (yes, really). Chyna is gearing up to face Jeff Jarrett in a Good Housekeeping Match at No Mercy (again, yes, really). Also, this show ends with a giant pile of crap. And no, that's not hyperbole. Meanwhile, in the news, Gorilla Monsoon has died. Vince Russo and Ed Ferrara quit the WWF and head for WCW. The British Bulldog is back in WWF. There are more lawsuits and drama between the WWF and the Hart Family over Owen Hart's passing. This and much more!

It was the best of times...it was the worst of times. We've got one of the greatest matches in WCW history and possibly one of the worst in WCW history, both on the same card. Troy & Greg will gleefully talk all about Rey Misterio Jr. vs. Eddie Guerrero as well as Hollywood Hogan vs. Roddy Piper in a steel cage. Also, we cover Macho Man vs. DDP in a Las Vegas Sudden Death match, Scott Hall, Eric Bischoff, and Larry Zbyszko continuing their weird feud, Sting is banned from the building, a fan (Real or fake? You decide!) jumps into the cage, and much more! Also, in the news, we cover WCW being white hot in 1997, Eric Bischoff pissing off the locker room, when (or if) Stone Cold Steve Austin will ever wrestle again, ECW being a complete train wreck (not sure if that's news, but, whatever...), and a ton more!

We've got a 3-man booth yet again! This time, Kyle from The Apron Bump Podcast (ApronBump.com) joins us as we go 22 years back in the past to review ECW Anarchy Rulz! Oddly enough, this was not a terrible show. Extreme Championship Wrestling broke into Minnesota with local boy, Jerry Lynn, going for the World Title in the main event against Justin Credible. Also, the FBI defends the Tag Titles against Mikey Whipwreck and Yoshihiro Tajiri. Rhino puts his TV Title on the line against Rob Van Dam. This show has some good stuff but also it's fair share of crap, which we'll DEFINITELY have fun dumping on (no pun intended). Also, in the news, ECW's TV show has tanked, Raven jumped to WWF, WCW is a confusing damn mess and a sinking ship, and a bunch of other MMA champions fight for UFC without mentioning their other accomplishments.

This was the Super Bowl; the WrestleMania of TNA, and it was the 3rd one ever. Kurt Angle is defending his World Title in the main event against Sting after earlier in the month, Kurt attacked Sting's son after one of his football games and locked him in an ankle lock in a parking lot. Also on this show, Black Machismo puts his X-Division Title on the line against "The Fallen Angel," we get a tag-team Ultimate X, Ron "The Truth" Killings & Pacman Jones (who gets replaced) putting the Tag Titles on the line, 2 battle royals (1 of them is historic), & much more! In the news, John Cena is out for SUPPOSEDLY a full year, Chris Jericho is back in the WWE, someone is paralyzed in a car wreck and a member of the Hogan family is involved, Kurt Angle gets caught driving under the influence, & a lot more!

This was a show after SummerSlam to get to a show to then get to Survivor Series. And even though this was sort of viewed as a "transition/throw away" show, it brought the goods. Not everything on this card was great, but there was enough good stuff here to keep the Marks interested. In turn, the Marks are bringing enough entertainment on this podcast to keep YOU interested. This was also the first 3-hour In Your House show. Stone Cold is still recovering from injury, so even though he's on all the promotional material, he doesn't wrestle here. He does, however, make an appearance and Stun some asses. Bret Hart defends his WWF Title against the Patriot in a very Canada vs. America type match. We get the WWF's first televised Triple Threat match and a Fatal Four Way Tag-Team Titles match. The Undertaker is also out for revenge against Shawn Michaels in a crazy main event you've got to see to believe. Also, in the news, the WWF is about to give up on Mark Henry, Perry Saturn is done with ECW, the NWO mocks the Four Horsemen on TV, and USWA is all but dead.

In September of 1988, Jim Crockett Jr. was getting ready to sell off NWA/JCP to Ted Turner, which would change wrestling forever. Also, they held their 3rd Clash of the Champions event, which was the first ever Fall Brawl! Was it good? That's for you to decide. Oh, and the Main Event Marks! Sting is trying to take gold from the Four Horsemen in the main event as he takes on Barry Windham for the United States Title. The Sheepherders also get a 17-minute match, so...there's that. Mike Rotunda defends his Television Title against Brad Armstrong to open the show. San Francisco 49ers legend Jon Ayers cuts...I guess we'll call them "promos"...about his upcoming appearance at Starrcade '88. Also, in the news, "Dr. Death" Steve Williams gets caught with A METRIC TON of drugs, the WWF is selling out house shows, Paul Orndorff gets a job offer, and the upcoming AWA PPV doesn't look promising.
