Main Event Marks

It's a special double main event as Hulk Hogan clashes with Sid Justice and "Nature Boy" Ric Flair defends the WWF Title against the "Macho Man" Randy Savage! The Marks (Troy & Greg) both absolutely love the year 1992 in the WWF, and this show is a big reason why. Sid and Hogan's friendship fell apart, leading to this match. Meanwhile, Flair claims Miss Elizabeth was sleeping with him before getting with Savage. Or was she!? There's tons of cool stuff on and around this show that the Marks dive into. On top of that, in the news and notes section, they discuss the steroid scandal in the WWF that's still dragging on and the fact that WCW has a changing of the guard in leadership.SUBSCRIBE TO FUBOTV: fubo.tv/welcome?irad=34GET YOUR SPORTS SWAG ON FANATICS: fanatics.ncw6.net/jxzKMLISTEN EVERY WEDNESDAY AT 8PM EST: unhingedsn.com/FOLLOW US ON TWITTER & INSTAGRAM: @MainEvent_MarksFOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK: facebook.com/maineventmarkspodCHECK OUT OUR MERCHANDISE: MainEventMarks.redbubble.comEMAIL US AT: [email protected] FOR US ON YOUTUBE AT: Main Event Marks

TNA pay-per-views were still in their infancy here, but the Marks (Troy & Greg) had their fandom fully bloomed for Total Nonstop Action wrestling! However, this was certainly less "a tale of two shows" and more of "a tale of 3-4 shows." You've got an amazing Iron Man match, a garbage match, multiple decent tag-team matches, and a main event that was horse s**t booked on acid between two members of the Over the Hill Gang. The true fandom of the Marks comes out on this show and the frustration boils over when they review the main event.SUBSCRIBE TO FUBOTV: fubo.tv/welcome?irad=34GET YOUR SPORTS SWAG ON FANATICS: fanatics.ncw6.net/jxzKMLISTEN EVERY WEDNESDAY AT 8PM EST: unhingedsn.com/FOLLOW US ON TWITTER & INSTAGRAM: @MainEvent_MarksFOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK: facebook.com/maineventmarkspodCHECK OUT OUR MERCHANDISE: MainEventMarks.redbubble.comEMAIL US AT: [email protected] FOR US ON YOUTUBE AT: Main Event Marks

Plucked from the mid-Ruthless Aggression Era, this was when WWE was really pumping out a great in-ring product with some over-the-top storylines! The stars seemed more like...you know...stars. The match quality was usually pretty good or amazing, and SmackDown was regularly handing Raw its ass (this SmackDown-exclusive PPV being no exception). However, WWE had to make the best of a bad situation here before WrestleMania 22. Eddie Guerrero just passed away and one of their biggest stars, Batista, was still out with an injury. But by God, WWE delivered! Enjoy this monthly bonus for February of 2021, on the 15 year anniversary of this last stop on the Road to WrestleMania 22!SUBSCRIBE TO FUBOTV: fubo.tv/welcome?irad=34GET YOUR SPORTS SWAG ON FANATICS: fanatics.ncw6.net/jxzKMLISTEN EVERY WEDNESDAY AT 8PM EST: unhingedsn.com/FOLLOW US ON TWITTER & INSTAGRAM: @MainEvent_MarksFOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK: facebook.com/maineventmarkspodCHECK OUT OUR MERCHANDISE: MainEventMarks.redbubble.comEMAIL US AT: [email protected] FOR US ON YOUTUBE AT: Main Event Marks

After the events of Starrcade 1997, the WCW World Heavyweight Title was held up. Now, Sting gets his SECOND chance to take on Hollywood Hogan in this show's main event. Will there be shenanigans? Of course there will be! It's WCW! There is also a major defection from WCW to the NWO, some confusion about the loyalties of the Macho Man, and someone loses their mask! Cohost, Greg, was actually live and in-person at this show! He shares all of his experiences from being in the audience while cohost, Troy, gives his opinions from seeing the show on the WWE Network.SUBSCRIBE TO FUBOTV: fubo.tv/welcome?irad=34GET YOUR SPORTS SWAG ON FANATICS: fanatics.ncw6.net/jxzKMLISTEN EVERY WEDNESDAY AT 8PM EST: unhingedsn.com/FOLLOW US ON TWITTER & INSTAGRAM: @MainEvent_MarksFOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK: facebook.com/maineventmarkspodCHECK OUT OUR MERCHANDISE: MainEventMarks.redbubble.comEMAIL US AT: [email protected] FOR US ON YOUTUBE AT: Main Event Marks

Won't you be our sweet Valen-Marks? This was the 27th and final In Your House event from February of 1999. Stone Cold Steve Austin took on Mr. McMahon in a Steel Cage match event match, Ken Shamrock puts his Intercontinental Title on the line against Val Venis because Val's been porking Ken's little sister, Al Snow and Bob (not yet Hardcore) Holly battle it out literally to the Mississippi River for the vacant Hardcore Title, and Mankind puts his WWF World Title on the line against The Rock in a Last Man Standing match after defeating "The Corporate Champion" on Halftime Heat! Oh...there's also a BIG surprise that will SHOW the world where his allegiances lie from the moment he debuts.SUBSCRIBE TO FUBOTV: fubo.tv/welcome?irad=34GET YOUR SPORTS SWAG ON FANATICS: fanatics.ncw6.net/jxzKMLISTEN EVERY WEDNESDAY AT 8PM EST: unhingedsn.com/FOLLOW US ON TWITTER & INSTAGRAM: @MainEvent_MarksFOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK: facebook.com/maineventmarkspodCHECK OUT OUR MERCHANDISE: MainEventMarks.redbubble.comEMAIL US AT: [email protected] FOR US ON YOUTUBE AT: Main Event Marks

Let's tell you a story about WCW in 1993... Big Van Vader was apparently living in a cave in the Rocky Mountains that he called the White Castle of Fear. Sting was on his way to this White Castle of Fear to have a strap match against Vader. However, once they get ready to do this match in the video...we're suddenly back in the arena and actually having the match in the ring. Keeping up with all this, kids? Also on this card, Ric Flair returns from the WWF, the Great Muta defends his NWA (yes, NWA) World Title against Barry Windham, the Heavenly Bodies (this time, it's Stan Lane & Tom Prichard) take on the Rock 'n' Roll Express, and much more! Also...why was Johnny B. Badd a host and dressed like a riverboat captain?SUBSCRIBE TO FUBOTV: fubo.tv/welcome?irad=34GET YOUR SPORTS SWAG ON FANATICS: fanatics.ncw6.net/jxzKMLISTEN EVERY WEDNESDAY AT 8PM EST: unhingedsn.com/FOLLOW US ON TWITTER & INSTAGRAM: @MainEvent_MarksFOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK: facebook.com/maineventmarkspodCHECK OUT OUR MERCHANDISE: MainEventMarks.redbubble.comEMAIL US AT: [email protected] FOR US ON YOUTUBE AT: Main Event Marks

It's co-host Greg's least favorite thing in the world: Extreme Championship Wrestling. Co-host Troy hand-picked this show because of how big of a fan he is of Taz and Shane Douglas, and this show honestly got better marks from the Marks than any previous ECW show they've reviewed. Yoshihiro Tajiri takes on Super Crazy for the first (of 1,000) time, Lance Storm fills in for Jerry Lynn to take on Rob Van Dam, Justin Credible and Tommy Dreamer battle it out in a Stairway to Hell match, and a ton more craziness goes on at Guilty as Charged 1999!SUBSCRIBE TO FUBOTV: fubo.tv/welcome?irad=34GET YOUR SPORTS SWAG ON FANATICS: fanatics.ncw6.net/jxzKMLISTEN EVERY WEDNESDAY AT 8PM EST: unhingedsn.com/FOLLOW US ON TWITTER & INSTAGRAM: @MainEvent_MarksFOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK: facebook.com/maineventmarkspodEMAIL US AT: [email protected] FOR US ON YOUTUBE AT: Main Event Marks

It's bonus show time again, and Jacob Grondy, from Curtain Jerkin' on WrestlingWithWrestling.com is back! It was the first official Royal Rumble in WWE history. It was on USA Network; not on pay-per-view, the Royal Rumble match was a 20-man match, and it was made entirely to counter-program the NWA's Bunkhouse Stampede pay-per-view. The Rumble match wasn't even the marquee thing at the event; Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant's contract signing for the WWF Title match at Saturday Night's Main Event was THE big segment on the show. On top of this, the show was held in Ontario, Canada while half the roster was in British Columbia on the other side of the country, holding a house show. Get a deep dive into this moment in history, 33 years ago!SPONSORED BY: FuboTV (fubo.tv/welcome?irad=34) and Fanatics (http://fanatics.ncw6.net/jxzKM)LISTEN EVERY WEDNESDAY AT 8PM EST: unhingedsn.com/FOLLOW US ON TWITTER & INSTAGRAM: @MainEvent_MarksFOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK: facebook.com/maineventmarkspodFOLLOW JACOB ON TWITTER: @JGProWrestlingSEARCH FOR US ON YOUTUBE AT: Main Event Marks

The new millennium gets the pay-per-view lineup kicked off by the World Wrestling Federation with the Royal Rumble 2000! And boy, the WWF brought the heat with this one! Last week, we told you how WCW kicked off the new year with Souled Out. Needless to say, this show was 100-times better and much less chaotic. Triple H battled Cactus Jack in a Street Fight for the WWF Title, the New Age Outlaws defend the WWF Tag Titles against the Acolytes, and the Rock tries to establish himself as the top babyface ahead of WrestleMania XVI as Stone Cold Steve Austin is out with a neck injury. This may be the best pay-per-view of the year and was certainly one of the greatest Royal Rumbles in history. Obviously, most of the news revolves around WCW on their death march, but there's much more than that going on.LISTEN EVERY WEDNESDAY AT 8PM EST: unhingedsn.com/FOLLOW US ON TWITTER & INSTAGRAM: @MainEvent_MarksFOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK: facebook.com/maineventmarkspodEMAIL US AT: [email protected] FOR US ON YOUTUBE AT: Main Event Marks
