  • The Refining Fire of Leadership - Part II

Thank you for all of your support. Please let us know what you think about our podcast and what topic you may want to hear from us. Leaders, Lead Well!

Diversity in both work and life encourages the exploration of different viewpoints, stimulates innovation and creativity, and enhances problem-solving and decision-making processes. Through diversity, our preferences, lifestyles, upbringings, and backgrounds shape who we are and allow us to bring a unique perspective to the table. These different outlooks and experiences create leaders who have a better understanding of those that they lead. Diversity teaches us how to communicate, see things from a fresh perspective, and open our minds to a higher level of awareness, empathy, and sensitivity.

Rich and Maikel continue discussing the refining fire of leadership and how diversity plays a critical role in shaping great leaders in this episode of Mainline Executive Coaching ACT.

  • The Refining Fire of Leadership - Part 1

Thank you for all of your support. Please let us know what you think about our podcast and what topic you may want to hear from us. Leaders, Lead Well!

Great leaders are often celebrated for their achievements. However, it’s the challenges and setbacks they face that truly distinguish the good from the great. It is through dealing with fear, uncertainty, frustration, and failure that leaders gain valuable lessons. These experiences forge their resilience and determination, which are essential qualities for true leadership. In today’s world, those who have overcome hardships are the ones best equipped to achieve success. In other words, adversity makes great leaders!

Rich and Maikel talk about the importance of adversity in this episode of Mainline Executive Coaching ACT.

  • You Claim to Know Things, but Do You Really?

Thank you for all of your support. Please let us know what you think about our podcast and what topic you may want to hear from us. Leaders, Lead Well!

You've read every book on the subject, attended every seminar, listened to every podcast, and have the mug and t-shirt to prove it. You consider yourself well-read and wise beyond your years, but do you know how to apply that learning and wisdom? Or is it just dusty knowledge collecting cobwebs in the corners of your brain?

The bottom line is that unless you can apply that knowledge and learning to who you are, meaning your strengths and gaps and leadership styles, to real-world application, it is just book smarts gathered from someone else's experience.

Rich and Maikel talk about applying that wisdom and knowledge to become the leader you must become in this episode of Mainline Executive Coaching ACT.

  • The Whole Truth and Nothing but the Truth

Thank you for all of your support. Please let us know what you think about our podcast and what topic you may want to hear from us. Leaders, Lead Well!

How often in our conversations do we hold up just short of telling the other person, or persons, everything they need to hear? It may be a painful part of the conversation we hesitate to approach for fear of offending people even though it is exactly the advice they need to hear. Something that may be painful now but will result in unlimited growth later on. Instead, we only tell them the truth that we can bear to communicate. Sure it is the truth, but is it the whole truth?

This is part of communication skills that for most of us is difficult. We get most of the truth out but stop short of the most important, difficult part of the conversations. Like going out on a special evening with your significant other and telling them they look fine, and missing out on an opportunity to tell them how nice they look or that plaids and stripes don't go well together.

Join Rich and Maikel as we talk about the importance of leaders having those important, honest conversations in this episode of Mainline Executive Coaching ACT.

  • Do You Qualify as an Acheiver

Thank you for all of your support. Please let us know what you think about our podcast and what topic you may want to hear from us. Leaders, Lead Well!

Being an Achiever is not easy, especially these days. That is to say, striving to be truly excellent and exceptional at something is difficult for a number of reasons. It is challenging, demanding, high-energy, self-disciplined, consistent, and passionate work. The joy of achieving for such people is an undeniably high-valued goal worth all it took to get there legitimately.

While achievers do not like to put limits on themselves because part of being an Achiever is to 1) find out what your limits are and then 2) learn to push beyond them. Those individuals dedicated to becoming Authentic Achievers are honestly and highly committed to becoming their best in whatever they pursue, which is a good thing out of many good things you could choose to do. It is that commitment and dedication that matters most. So ask yourself, am I qualified?

Rich and Maikel discuss the attributes that make a great achiever in this episode of Mainline Executive Coaching ACT.

Thank you for all of your support. Please let us know what you think about our podcast and what topic you may want to hear from us. Leaders, Lead Well!

How often do we find ourselves putting off the things that should matter the most to us? Those things that will have the greatest impact on not only our own lives but the lives of those around us. What if putting off those things means the difference between organizational success, personal well-being, a lasting legacy, or just plain mediocracy? In many instances, we put off these things without another thought all because the now or instant gratification becomes more important than what our future could really be. The legacy we must leave.

If you have not listened to any of our podcasts, please listen to this one. The message we want to share with you is of utmost importance and one that we hope will change the way you view your own personal development and self-worth.

Join Rich and Maikel on this episode of Mainline Executive Coaching ACT as we unpack the reasons why you matter.

  • Leadership is Doer-ship

Thank you for all of your support. Please let us know what you think about our podcast and what topic you may want to hear from us. Leaders, Lead Well!

How often are we guilty of just reading the headline and immediately coming to our conclusions without ever reading the article? Digging deeper to find out exactly what the story was all about? How about in the workplace when you see a person's title and assume that they have it all figured out? After all, the title alone tells us that this person is a real go-getter capable of handling anything the business world can throw at them.
Who do you know (yourself included) that chased that title only to realize that once there, they were in way over their heads when it comes to being a real leader.

That is because leadership is a craft and not a title. Their is a substantial difference in being good at your job as opposed to being a great leader. Just as with any craft, it takes time, coaching, and a focus on personal development to be able to DO those things required of leadership.

Rich and Maikel discuss the importance of developing the craft of leadership in this episode of Mainline Executive Coaching ACT.

  • Which Role Best Describes You at Work?

Thank you for all of your support. Please let us know what you think about our podcast and what topic you may want to hear from us. Leaders, Lead Well!

The answers to the question would be:  A – Boss, B – Greedy Boss, C – Good Boss, D – Leader.

    How would you answer?

A boss is someone who simply gives orders, expects them to be followed, and focuses primarily on achieving goals at any cost. A leader, on the other hand, inspires and motivates their team to achieve a common goal, leads by example, builds trust and respect, fosters innovation and creativity, and encourages personal and professional growth. A boss typically demands respect, while a leader earns respect through their actions and behaviors. Overall, a boss focuses on tasks and results, while a leader focuses on people and relationships.

Rich and Maikel take on the task of defining the boss to a leader in this episode of Mainline Executive Coaching ACT.

  • I, Leader

Thank you for all of your support. Please let us know what you think about our podcast and what topic you may want to hear from us. Leaders, Lead Well!

Leadership is characterized by the complex and diverse nature of human values, which can be fluid, contradictory, and at times, difficult to define. This is why human elements such as common sense, continuous learning, adapting on the fly, understanding cause and effect, the ability to reason effectively, and moral decision-making are critical elements of leadership that will never be replaced by AI.

However, try as they might, some believe that AI can replace, or enhance the part of leadership that will always and must be human. Human interaction is, and always will be, at the core of true leadership.

Rich and Maikel discuss how AI falls short of leadership in this episode of Mainline Executive Coaching ACT.
