From coaches to refs to spectators, everyone at the event could be in danger if they aren’t paying attention—some great advice for all spectators of events. Then, another great friend of the show, Gizmo joins to promote several shows that are coming up with Evergreen Theater. The guys are joined by Kate Stapleton, harpist, dancer, theatre and film producer, and writer, to talk about her film “The Inner Sea.” Kate shares what the film is about, the inspiration behind it, and where to see it! In a nutshell, the movie has a foundation here in Wisconsin. While she grew up in the western part of the state, some of the inspiration for the film is based on her time in Sheboygan and her experience of looking out over vast Lake Michigan. We’re really excited about it being shown at the Door County Film Festival. Then Pat Tracey joins from Discover Oshkosh to give us a review on the city’s Restaurant Week and a glimpse at more events coming up!

It’s a Trucker Thursday and that means the weekend is relatively close! Celebrity birthdays include Christian Bale, Gene Hackman and Phil Collins. While Jim and his wife Dona love Phil, Maino is not a fan. He feels like his music is “too soft”. Do you have thoughts on that? Then in our Veterans Salute from Olson Legal Group, we speak with Vietnam Marine Veteran Rich Karki. One of the stories Rich shares is that he chose The Marines because he didn’t want to be on a boat. Then he found out that the Marines are on boats. He also shares the story of walking and feeling like someone tugged on his uniform. By the time he looked back to see what it was, he was already flying in the air. He walked into a booby trap. Rich says he still thinks and has nightmares about his time in Vietnam, including the time another soldier died in his arms. Another great hour from Heights Pub & Parlor! We have some real stars on the show this morning when Lisa Malak from Local 5 LIVE and Frank Hermans from Let Me Be Frank Productions join the guys for mimosas and bloodys! Local 5 LIVE is one of our favorite local shows because, like Maino & The Mayor, are hyper-focused on talent, businesses, and sports in our community! And Frank, of course, is just part of the music and theatrical world in Northeast Wisconsin. Both of these folks are part of the fabric of our community. We’re also happy to welcome a member of the Heights staff, Cassie Schiltz. Not only does she work at the Heights during her summer months, but she’s also a member of the UWGB Women’s Basketball team. She is a smart, young individual that Jim wants to make sure stays in Green Bay once she graduates!

Ann comes armed with details on their recent Economic Vitality Study. In basic terms, the study shows us the strength of manufacturing in Northeast Wisconsin and the recruitment need for this industry. She also worked in the U.P., so obviously, she and Maino can connect on that! Then Katy Compton with the Mulva Cultural Center swings by to promote a new exhibit called “Unofficial Galaxies“, one of the largest private single collections of Star Wars memorabilia in the world!
