Sony’s sprawling Spider-Verse is getting “way, way, way bigger,” producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller teased at CinemaCon, the annual exhibition trade show currently underway in Las Vegas. After turning ” Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” into a critical and commercial smash, the filmmakers hyped up a crowd of movie theater owners by showing an exclusive look at the first 15 minutes of the follow-up ” Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.”

Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, better known by his stage name Bad Bunny, has been cast as the newest Marvel hero in Sony Pictures’ portfolio of the super characters – and will lead the standalone comic book film ” El Muerto.” “El Muerto” is set to hit theaters on Jan. 12, 2024.

HBO Max is developing a series version of "You Brought Me the Ocean," the YA graphic novel about the origins of DC's Aqualad, Variety has learned from sources. The live-action, one-hour dramedy is based on characters from DC and the graphic novel by Alex Sanchez and Jul Maroh.

A new live-action series about Casper the Friendly Ghost is in development at Peacock, Variety has learned. The potential series hails from writer and executive producer Kai Yu Wu, with UCP and DreamWorks Animation set to co-produce. The series is described as a horror/adventure show that reimagines the origin of Casper in a coming-of-age story that explores what it means to be alive.

The ” Gotham Knights” pilot at The CW has added three new cast members, Variety has learned. Olivia Rose Keegan, Navia Robinson, and Oscar Morgan have all joined the pilot. Variety exclusively reported earlier this week that Fallon Smythe and Tyler DiChiara are also set to star.

Warner Bros. has shuffled the release dates for several movies, including ” Black Adam,” ” The Flash,” ” Aquaman 2,” “Wonka” and “Shazam 2.” “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” and “The Flash” are both being pushed from 2022 to 2023 due to COVID-induced production delays with visual effects.

Bruna Marquezine will play Penny, the female lead and love interest in ” Blue Beetle.” The superhero adventure makes history as the first DC Films production to star a Latino character. In addition, “Blue Beetle” has added Belissa Escobedo and Harvey Guillén to the ensemble.
